What do Muslim women wear when they go swimming?
This is not asked to be crude, but out of curiosity, I myself do not like to see women who show their wares to the world, so this got me to thinking what do Muslim women wear.
Please do not answer if you do not know, and no rude comments please.
Let us respect all around us
Thanks

There are suits for Muslim women to wear so we can maintain our modesty while going swimming. There are also some Islamic women's only swimming pools for Muslim women.

Can't answer for 100%, but as far as I am aware, it's only rude for Muslim women to "display" themselves (for want of a better phrase) in front of other men who are not their husband or immediate relation.
I know that in Leeds and a couple of other places where the Muslim religion is concentrated, there are women only gyms where men are banned and Muslim women can exercise without worrying about their religious commitments.
I would therefore imagine that Muslim women wear a swimming costume, the same as the rest of us girlies.
Please note, that this is only what I have been told and no offence was meant if I'm incorrect. xx

I'm living in Saudi Arabia and when women go to swim, we wear whatever we want because we rent a villa that has indoor pool, or private beach front. It doesn't matter what we wear as long as no men see us. If we swim at a public beach, we go into the water with the hijab or wet suits like for divers. Overall, Islam is very easy, it's all about a person if he/she is willing to explore. I hope your question is answered. Good luck!

Well if you have your own pool you can wear what ever you want .. I think most women don't invest in things like a burkini. I would like to have one but they're really expensive and i don't swim often enough for all that. I would wear a light and small scarf pinned tightly down , with dark solid light weight clothing. You sink down to the bottom of the pool from the weight of all the clothes but you've still got your dignity !!

I've visited countries that have substantial Muslim populations. There, the idea of a special costume for bathing has not occurred. Mostly people do not jump in the ocean or lake, but when they do, they wear their regular street attire. Kind of sad, really. They don't know the freedom and pleasure of stripping down.

Generally on such occasions even Hindu woman folk will also have privacy, i.e., without men near the pool's surroundings. so Muslim woman will have their own swimming pools where woman only allowed to bathe. so the question of which type of swim wear they use looses its relevance.

I've actually seen a website that featured Muslim beachwear for women. Basically the standard beekeeper outfits, only made from swimsuit material. I've also seen the same kind of thing for extremely conservative Christian women - beachwear that covers all those naughty bits like, you know, arms and legs, so as not to overly tempt your fellow Christians of the opposite sex.
It reminds me of the way they used to cover table legs in Victorian times out of "modesty."
Say what you will, but it's all based on fear of women's sexuality. But I'm the last one to insist that they change to conform with my Western ideas.
