How many walks do they get in a day? They need at least 2-3 good long walks. If they are just out in the yard and go no further they are no doubt bored silly and need to work off all that energy.
Leaving them outside all the time is not good for them either. In time if they don;t get enough attention that hyperness may take a nasty turn. That's something you don;t want.
Lots of exercise and time in with the family will make a huge difference. Throw in some obedience training and I bet you will see a huge difference in a very short time.

1.First of all, bull terriers are highly energetic by nature. That is a part of the personality of these dogs. You should have researched is a bit befor aquiring 2 of them. They will likely always be hyper and active.
2. Pit Bulls are not outdoor dogs. They are actually quite intolerant of both extreme heat and cold, and have sensitive skin. These dogs belong inside the home, as they are not exactly the best suited for the elements...something else you should have researched.
3. How much contact with you do they get? They are likely lonely, frustrated, and itching to take a long walk or recieve some affection. What kind of 'stuff' have you tried? Do you walk them? Play with them? Exercise them? Have they been trained?
4. PLAY BITING IS NEVER ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR.
You need to give these dogs up to a rescue, as you have absolutely no clue what proper pit bull ownership entails. Find a nice home for your dogs and get yourself a fish....a fish would suit you much better.

As someone said your dogs need alot more excersize like running a lot, especially pit bulls they're very muscular dogs that need to have work outs. Also make sure you teach them discipline i know that sounds random but if you can keep a dog focused, and more relax like they are in training that can transfer to how they always are. Also try to keep them on a leash for a while when you bring them outside, this gives you alot of control over what they do. When they try to take off or something this is when you kind of have a quick snap and pull of the leash. Not pulling them cuz they are strong dogs and actually like it somewhat if they can pull you, but just a quick snap and "no" when they act "crazy" Good Luck!!!

Have you tried WALKING them. Most dog breeds, especially hyper dog breeds like boxers and pitbulls and labs, need to be walked EVERYDAY, several times a day for at least 15 minutes. Otherwise they get bored, they end up with a lot of pent up energy, and they start to act up. Just running back and forth in the yard isn't good enough, no matter how big your yard is.

How can you calm them down? By letting them be inside dogs, like they're supposed to be.
Dogs that are tied up or left outside for the majority of the day tend to become overly excited or hyperactive because of lack of attention (or if they're tied up, a lack of proper exercise). They are obviously not getting the human companionship that they NEED, so when they do get some kind of attention they become more excited than the average housedog (who is used to having someone around).
And I'm not even going to get into their complete and total incapability to stand being outside in hot and cold weather.
APBTs are FAMILY dogs, INSIDE dogs.

Have you tried walking them? A good long quick brisk walk - that you control (meaning no sniffing hte ground) - head up walking is the best way to mentally and physically tire a dog out. Don't walk them together - walk one at a time. And focus solely on that dog. Walk for 45 minutes. They will be tired if you walk - no sniffing, no letting the dog drag you - a simple walk in a heel the whole way.

I can see 2 reasons why the are like this.
1. They are outside all the time... bring them in and give them some love once in a while!
2. They need WAY more exercise than they are getting now.

I hate to tell but pit bulls are not good outside dogs. That is why they are hyper. Let them in for the night and you weell soon see a change. I own a 90LB pit and live in an apartment and have no problem.

Well.. that's the thing with outside dogs. They aren't part of the family, they aren't in the house and they don't learn how to be social animals.. They don't get the attention and the exercise they need, and they don't get the corrections they deserve, and OMG you end up with a hyper out of control dog that no one wants to be around..
Then what happens is.. people quit going out to the backyard cause they get sick of being around the out of control dogs.. Dogs get angry, and frustrated and the plot their escape. Next thing you know the two of them are running down the street with their chains trailing behind them, and they are terrorizing everyone in their path...
Yup, it's bad to leave dogs outside..

The problem may be that they are left outside all day with nothing to do. They sound bored to me. If you are going to keep dogs outside, which I don't recommend, make sure they get enough interaction with people, have enough toys and things to keep them busy, and-- they still need walks, like any dog. Exercise them, tire them out. High energy dogs with nothing to do are going to be hyper. Have they been trained at all? This goes for any dog.
And again, dogs do best when they are indoor dogs and can live with the rest of their family.
