Can a person with albinism be a professional bowler or do the vision issues will prevent them from bowling?

Can a person with albinism have enough vision to have a driver's license? For how long would this person be able to drive before his/her eyes get too tired?

I'm looking for serious answers please. Preferably from a person with albinism, an ophthalmologist, optometrist, or a person who has dealt with albinism in an indirect manner.

Thank you very much,

-JS

Hey there!
I have albinism, and it truly depends on the situation. There is just albinism by itself, ocular albinism (what I have) and other types.
Ocular albinism comes with nystagmus, which is the involuntary movement of the eyes back and forth.
I knew a guy who was totally blind and he bowled really well. As long as you can feel where the gutters are at and are able to keep a straight throw, you are pretty much set.
I cannot drive ever. I could get these glasses that are like telescopes, but for people with albinism, we have a lack of pigmentation behind the eyes, so basically we are super light sensitive. It is the glare that gets me, and because of my nystagmus, I have limited peripheral vision.

There are different levels of visual problems. You can find info about albinism and driving here: http://albinism.org/publications/driving.html
