A General Discharge is for not meeting the Standards or doing something bad, but not bad enough to warrant a Dishonorable or Less Than Honorable Discharge...it is not as good as a Honorable Discharge...my reaction to this is "Just Suck it up and Drive On." You signed up, now see it through...if you really want it, fail a PT Test, say you are gay, or just be late a lot...but be warned, if you try to get a job and the person doing the hiring knows something about or was in the Military, they may not hire you because a General Discharge pretty much means you were Chewed Up, but not so bad to get a OTH or DH Discharge...I would not hire some one with a GD...

A General Discharge is something you don't want.
Go for the Honorable Discharge. A General Discharge is where you did not measure up as far as the US Military was concerned.

I suppose you CAN get one but why?

Do you want to tell your children or grand children one day that you couldn't or wouldn't honor your commitment enough to earn an Honorable Discharge? That you didn't have what it takes to handle the national guard?

Are you another one of those that wanted the spiffy looking uniform but when it comes down to actually deploying, you're looking for an easy way out? If that's the reason you're wanting a general discharge, please get one and soon. No sense in letting you serve alongside better troops than you are for one minute longer than it takes to hand you that general discharge. Good luck at Burger King.

Makes me feel like I just soiled my hands by just answering your question.

No BS. he won't be allowed to reenlist. He may well be waiting to plead his case yet is he already has a bypass homestead date, it does not sound solid. in case you think of that the protection tension is a powerful option then i might advise that the two one in each of you get married and which you connect. in case you do no longer experience that he's in charge, get out of this courting and initiate another time. bypass back to college and do what you are able to to make a powerful existence for you and your toddler. each so often issues do exactly no longer artwork out and it is not a clever theory to survive a sinking deliver. the following day, bypass out on your community community college and see what courses are available in for you. many situations, unmarried mothers can bypass back to community colleges and get an education. Many grant loose or decreased childcare as properly. Be truthful with your self, he did no longer marry you and take the accountability for his baby. He additionally smoked weed whilst he knew which you and the baby have been according to him to grant financial help. supply up nerve-racking approximately his destiny and get on with yours.

You don't want a general discharge. It means you didn't measure up or you quit.

What happened to the tough guy who could take all the army had to dish out? All talk, I suppose.
