There is no Marlin Model 338. By chance do you mean a Model 336 Lever Action Rifle?

.338 Marlin Express caliber? What kind of gun? Model number? condition? I had heard of the wildcat caliber but did not know someone made them.

Or do you have a Marlin Model 336? A lever action rifle? Age and condition?

Clean off the 338 with a cotton swab and some solvent; see if it is a 336. Said rifle usually goes anywhere from 75 to 300 bucks depending on how close to hunting season it is.

Marlin makes a lot of guns. Please give us the model number, the caliber, the action type and approximately the age, condition of the gun. Include the wood type or color and any checkering or carving or dents and scratches. If it is blued steel or stainless steel. and what the inside of the barrel looks like. And on the caliber note what cartridge it is chambered for not just the caliber.

The Blue Book of Gun Values is the answer. Look for a copy at your library.
