"have you been drinking son?" says the officer
"Only in church!" I will reply
"Good boy!" the officer says while walking away.
I don't think even if it's a "sip" children should be allowed to drink wine in church. You can't give a "sip" to a child in your house...why is it allowd when in God's house?

Russel....it's the law...if I sound dumb because I follow the law....maybe you should either leave the country or fight to change it...
Personally, I would rather live in amsterdam where you can drink and smoke pot and not get in trouble....but I don't...and it cost a lot of money to fly there...

I'm PRETTY sure I know my own state's law on this since we're constantly reminded of it in school.

It is not illegal to have a drink and drive unless you are over the limit.
"You can't give a "sip" to a child in your house". Could you please state what law that is. You keep going on about "It's law, it's law". Please give your reference to show what law. That is your mission, should you choose to accept it....
Somehow I don't think you will.

You should read the Constitution more carefully. It says, "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
The first part "respecting the establishment of religion," means the goverment cannot adopt an existing religion as a state religion, nor make it's own up. The second part, "or prohibting the free exercise thereof" means the goverment can't interfere with, among other religious practices, the reception of Holy Communion.
The reception of Communion Bread is for Catholics who are not (aware of being) in a state of mortal sin. The reception of Communion wine is volutary. If a child so chooses to receive Communion in the wine species, and the parents approve, the Church can give the child Communion wine.
The fact of the matter is, it is only a sip, and there is not enough alcohol in that sip to intoxicate a child old enough to receive Communion.
Jesus says, "Let the children come to me." Nowhere is Jesus more present than when He is in consecrated Communion Bread and Wine. To deny a child Commuinion is to violate a direct mandate from Jesus Himself.
You might be tempted to advocate political law, but God's Law transcends all earthly law.

we don't sit down there and drink glasses of wine at Mass. as quickly as we celebrate the Eucharist we get a sip of wine, not a tumbler or a shot, yet a sip. Face it you're a Catholic basher and you nevertheless undergo fake witness against Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church. could God have mercy on you Edit, the wine they drank and the water Jesus grew to become in to wine replaced into fermented grape juice meaning there is alcohol contained in the wine, in any different case it may be reported as grape juice. Fermenting skill that the grapes are dealing with a technique which make the grape juice have an alcohol content fabric. whilst one beverages grape juice throughout communion as you do you're actually not following the bible yet have unquestionably replaced what Jesus reported.

Never had wine when I went to church, only the priest took a sip. Oh, man, another thing I missed. Shame.
By the way, do you live in Saudi Arabia that giving a sip at home is forbidden? That's how my father taught me about wine and appreciating a single good glass over a binge.

Wait until you have a child, and you read the ingredient list on the bottle of medicine you're about to give them for a fever in the middle of the night. Then see how this non-issue you're making an issue of stands up.

Don't worry, if you took a big gulp of wine (precious Blood) in the Catholic Church --- someone would tell you about it.

did you mean you were going to become ROMAN CATHOLIC? because catholic mean universal. so are you going to join the Roman Catholic Church or the universal church? And were I the priest at the rectory, I would have you arrested if you were so plowed that you got pulled over for dui which means you had ALL of his (the priest's) sacrimental wine. What a dipstick. Hope you don't take offense.

Um do you realize how dumb you sound. If you look around the world at other cultures and compare them with ours we are one of few that don't allow children to drink. Which teaches them what? Hmm lets see. That they need to sneak around and do it and get sloppy drunk. Where as other cultures allow it and teach them that its not about getting wasted but being social. Is our society that ignorant
