me and my ex started dating in feb. we were really close and practically living together from the start. after about a month of that final exams came around and we were both stressed and started having some arguments about time and priorities. that led to us breaking up several times (he broke up with me but he always came back 2 days later asking to get back together). then we were together all summer, but it was a long distance relationship from may-august. but he was really affectionate and nice and we saw each other a couple times(but we talked on the phone almost everyday). then when we were living in the same city again (in sept) he seemed really distant and then he broke up with me a few days after i got back saying that he had gotten used to being alone over the summer and that he didn't want a relationship right now and that he just wasn't feeling it anymore. what's happened and is there any chance of getting him back? also, he'll barely talk to me anymore.

time and priorities... that means you need to give him as much time he needs to be alone.

If he misses you, he will want to get back together.

This is all about giving space.... perhaps he wants you, but you are taking too much time away..or that he is feeling that he is spending too much time on relationship and it's not helping him in whatever he is trying to acheive.... it's awful to understand this, but it is true .

Just remember that he has you in his heart no matter what. He doesnt hate you, just dont bother him too much .... or it seems like he isn't ready for commitment if he hasn't achieve any goals like getting good grades.

He has probably gotten used to being alone, which gives him the freedom to do whatever he wants. I dont think he is seeing anyone.. If he is... that would be even worst because he is going to mess up his priorities again!

Dont assume though if he is seeing anyone, he just want to be alone for a while.

From his point of view, it sounds more like you're a convenient stress pillow for him instead of a girlfriend.
If it would currently be a long distance relationship, don't torture yourself with that again. Start a relationship out of love not convenience.
It's sounds like both of you need some serious time away from each other to straighten your heads out.
Box up any photos you have of him and concentrate on you and your life.
If you stay with the path you're on now, you'll never be mentally stable enough to have a relationship.

Sounds like he doesn't want a relationship that is going to tie him down right now. Talk to him about your friendship and then let it alone. You both have broken up with each other a lot of times. Give your relationship a break and if it was meant to be, you'll find your way back to each other. Just be honest with each other and try and talk this out.

Let's face it, he's seeing someone else and is playing games with you. Please don't let this guy keep using you for his convenience. Guys that aren't honest and responsible really is not worth your time. Girl drop him and move on before you get in too deep. Remeber that what one won't do, another will. Best Wishes!!
