I always bring something, not because I have to but because it's nice and polite. As long as it is inexpensive, it will score points (spend to much and his parents will feel bad). Flowers would be lovely- or call his mom and say you want to bring dessert. My friend brought homebaked bars to my dinner a few weeks ago, which was very personal.

When invited to a dinner, you usually take something for the host and hostess not everyone attending. Flowers and/or a bottle of wine are the norm.

I think a bouquet of flowers or a festive live plant for Grandmom would be lovely.

Since it is several people, I would bring a couple bottles of wine. You can all enjoy them with the meal or have them as cocktails before the meal.

I don't think you need to bring anything but a nice box of chocolates might be popular.
