So the generic name for 'flatware' is 'silverware' and not the other way around?

Also, some people eat using spatulas?

No, I think of it as a generic name for eating utensils. I don't get mad if someone asks for a Kleenex instead of tissue or Q-tips instead of cotton swabs.

I don't hate it, it is just a dumb thing people say.
Call them forks, etc.
Don't matter to me what they are called as long as they do their job and get the food to my face.
But then I could use my fingers, too!

No I don't care. Usually where we eat they don't use plastic silverware anyway.

I hate it when they call it flatware. WTF would you call it that? So what its made of plastic, and whats so flat abut it. I bet you hate sporks also, "cause it just ain't natural." Just take out your hearing aide and you'll be ok.
