Actually I'm totally for GOD, he is my answer to everything and will be for eternity... but I read these comments and I want all of you to know I don't look down on any one, neither does GOD. That is the point.... forgiveness. I understand some christains aer not great people we do make mistakes and some are terrible ones... but don't judge faith by it's cover... judge each person as a person. No one here knows me, so how can some one here say I don't like followers of God, in reality I could meet you today and become great friends... on the same day you said all christains are judemental. please understand this message is targeted towards all readers of this message not just the asker

I am against god, or rather, the idea of god, because there is no evidence at all that one exists ,and yet, it is used to justify some of the most immoral behavior we can know on earth.
The mere idea of a god in the most popular sense is a belief that we are slaves to an all powerful tyrant and that the only reason the things we do are right or wrong is because he says so. How is obeying a master equivalent to being a moral individual?
Until god makes himself known in some unquestionable way, i will not believe he, she, or it exists, and i am embarrassed to be among so many who will make justifications to base their lives around something that most likely does not exist.

i'm not just against god, i'm against religion. why? oh i don't know, maybe it's because religion is one of the main causes or war. people go to war over something as stupid as religion. it's other people's free choice, not something they can be forced into. so if that's considered being burned by religion, then yes, i was burned.
but if one of them turned out to be true i wouldn't be a dumbass and not believe it. but so far it doesn't look true. there's no real evidence for it. if you can prove that god wrote the bible through men and that it wasn't just crazy people thinking somebody was talking to them, then i might reconsider it. but since there's no way you can go back in time or read people's minds, you'll never figure that out.
and all of them have an equal chance of being right or wrong when it comes down to it, because they all sound equally ridiculous.

Hadn't realize I was "against God".
I wasn't burned by religion in the least. No I would never go back. There is no reconciliation because there was never a fight?
Why is it so hard for some Christians to understand we just don't believe? That if we "went back" to Christianity it would be a big fat lie. That we are HAPPY where we are. We aren't hurting you! Leave us alone!

Being against something we don't believe in is pretty difficult, if you ask me. I hate god like you hate Big Foot. Saying that just doesn't make sense, does it?
I didn't become an atheist because of some traumatic experience, or because god didn't answer my prayers. I did because I used my own brain and sought to have a deep understanding of our natural world. Everything else just fell into place after awhile.
Being an atheist isn't really a choice; it's the inevitable conclusion from available information. In other words, I couldn't just "start believing" again. It would go against my own common sense and rationality. It would be like going 3 steps back.

Is somebody against God? Is it hot there? Doesn’t God ever move and if she does, is it difficult to remain against her?
How could anybody be against God? I mean, why pick some deity, with special, manmade powers to be against? Wouldn’t this be dangerous? Haven’t these people read the bible?
“Against God”! Well I never!

Not against God, per se. I just don't happen to believe that your account (or anyone else's) of His existence is necessarily the correct one. I don't function through "signs" and "portents". If God wishes me to know Him, He'll have to give me a more tangible message than the writings of a bunch of old dead guys. Answer your question? Didn't think so.

Whom is the question directed to?
people who are aginst certain foolish religious practices are not against God .
this is what Jesus was considered to be in his days .Values differ from palce toplace and from time to time .any one insisting on permanancy in this regard is impractical and ignorant only.Wht is God to daywill be demon tomorrow and what is demon to day would be god to morrow .This si how the midern religins have come into existence .it won't be a siurprise if they fade out in due course ,since change is the order of the universe. .

The main reason I hate religion is because of all the evils it has caused. It promotes the idea that woman are inferior. It is prop slavery and against homosexuality. it has also caused so much wars. What about the crusades, 9/11, and the invasion of Iraq.

I never have been nor will I ever be against God, that would be self hating in a way. I don't trust the church or any other organized anomaly.
I'm more against humans and the problems they cause, I will not reconcile.
