Like he did when he gave the 10 commandments, or when he wiped out the earth with a flood, then why did he need to send his son to die? Why couldn't he just demand a repentant spirit? It seems kind of unnecessary and gruesome. The animal sacrifices were infinitely less evil, and demanded an actual sacrifice on part of the sinner.

Plastik: They are god changing the rules. Before the flood there was no law of the land, enacting laws is changing the rules. Same thing with the 10 commandments.

The Biblical God is THE most violent, immoral, evil character in history. He slaughtered MORE people than Hitler, and repeatedly COMMANDED his followers to hurt and kill others.

GOD OR SINFUL HUMANKIND TO BLAME?

Where ever there is no law and order, there is violence, the bible people are relatives, they are family, but they have no respect for the fact that they have been given life and family. Only God can be a law enforcer for people that do not want law and order.
They disguise themselves as Pharoah and no one knows which family members is having the infant males in the family of Abraham killed. Abraham was 427 years after the flood in the midst of land pirates to get the Promised Land covenant, at 470 years after Abraham there is going to be a people with the laws of the land and the laws of God to be law enforcement people.
2553 years after Adam, there are law enforcement people on God's earth.

All there ever needed to be was love, where is any law needed if family love and care for each other.

What kind of people is it that God can not get to understand love. Jesus said at Matt.22:39-40; Rom.13:8-10;

In genesis heaven and earth are separated, in Deuteronomy heaven is distant and in job the heavens are higher than the farthest stars. In Isaiah heaven and earth are destroyed and are built anew, were heaven is filled with peace, happiness there is no hunger or fear. Basically the modern view of what heaven is. It is not till we reach the new testament that we start running into a philosophical heaven, where it is described very similar to that of the old testament but now there is a how to get there. In John, Jesus describes himself as the bread from heaven which grants eternal life. In Acts heaven is near enough to see into but it does not say were heaven is physically. Romans says when getting right with God do not ask in your heart who will go too heaven to bring Christ down to earth, suggesting the path to heaven is in the heart, not that heaven is in the heart. Corinthians tells us that heaven is corporeal. Ephesians talks of dark places in heavenly places were none physical beings exist that are our enemies. So in summery heaven is not here on earth, time and time again the bible reiterates that it is not Earth. Though we can see into heaven with help of the spirit and we are covered in its light we do not know where it physically is. Heaven is a mater of faith and the path is with Jesus and the commandments.

Because 'we' used the sacrifice as a 'band aid'. Every time we sinned, we would run and kill a thousand or so animals, make some token offering and then "Next!"

Face it, we were overdoing it big time and He was fed up to the max. What did He do? He said I would make a "one-time sacrifice" of myself through my only begotten son, Jesus the Christ. He would die one time for everybody and then, when they sin, they could come boldly before my throne and seek my forgiveness. Once they are repentant and would sin no more, I would erase their sins and they would live with me forever in infinite peace.

Our attempts at making amends had run their course. Any father would say "Look, I am fed up with your slackness!" He may not totally erase his children but then, he is flesh as we all are and without purity as the Living God who makes no compromise in these things. Our Father, Almighty God wants a clean church - no mess!

It's quite easy to kill an animal which has no place in your heart; but would you kill your only son - for another's salvation? That's my God!

But there is no god. Just a bunch of rantings from dead rabid ancestors who really didn't know very much but had a hoot of a time telling stories. That the believers DON'T want to change the rules is indicative of the fact that the fantasy gene runs very deep within mankind.

God is sovereign. The Creator of the earth. He has the right to punish those who do evil, and discipline those who love him when we do wrong. Just as a father must discipline, so God must, because he loves us and guides us to live righteouly through Jesus Christ, our King.

that aren't examples of changing the rules. everything has to revealed to us one thing at a time. they have always been laws. just because we didn't know them or understand them previously doesn't mean they didn't exist.
