I Corinthians 10:2-4, "And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink, for they drank of that spiritual Rock that FOLLOWED THEM: and that Rock was Christ".

FOLLOWED THEM WHERE? WAS IT OUT OF EGYPT?

Exoduus 13:21 says, And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.

This is the Rock upon which the church is built. The Spiritual
Rock of revelation through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Deuteronomy 32:39, "See now that I, even I AM, he, and
there is no God besides me". Why are some trying to add another God??

Hear O Israel the Lord our God is ONE Lord! Our God is ONE!!

Thanks and God Bless You All!!

The bible does not teach that Jesus is Jehovah.

Quite in contrast, that Exodus account plainly teaches that the pillar was directly controlled by an ANGEL who acted as Jehovah's agent, rather than personally by Almighty Jehovah Himself. Jehovah's Witnesses believe it likely that this angel was the pre-human Jesus.

(Exodus 14:19) Then the angel of the true God who was going ahead of the camp of Israel departed and went to their rear, and the pillar of cloud departed from their van and stood in the rear of them.

The passage at 1 Corinthians alludes to the two occasions when literal water was supplied to refresh the Israelites, but was also an obvious reference to the spiritual water provided by God. Jesus is God's first and primary agent in doing so.

(Exodus 17:6) And you must strike on the rock, and water must come out of it, and the people must drink it.” Subsequently Moses did so under the eyes of the older men of Israel.

(Numbers 20:8) “Take the rod and call the assembly together, you and Aaron your brother, and you must speak to the crag before their eyes that it may indeed give its water; and you must bring out water for them from the crag and give the assembly and their beasts of burden drink.”

(John 7:38) He that puts faith in me [Jesus], just as the Scripture has said, ‘Out from his inmost part streams of living water will flow.’”

Checking The Message - here is 1 Cor 10

1-5 "Remember our history, friends, and be warned. All our ancestors were led by the providential Cloud and taken miraculously through the Sea. They went through the waters, in a baptism like ours, as Moses led them from enslaving death to salvation life. They all ate and drank identical food and drink, meals provided daily by God. They drank from the Rock, God's fountain for them that stayed with them wherever they were. And the Rock was Christ."

But THAT is not the point of the passage in my view. The point it that even tho they had everything they needed; they had food, they had drink, all provided for them SUPERNATURALLY by God Himself,,,,,,,,they partied it away. They made OTHER gods and worshipped them.

You have to go to the next portion of the passage to get the MEANING of what Paul is saying in 1 Corinthians to the believers at Corinth!

1:14 "Therefore, my dearly beloved, shun (keep clear away from, avoid by flight if need be) any sort of idolatry (of loving or venerating anything more than God)." (Amplified Bible)

1:14 "So, my very dear friends, when you see people reducing God to something they can use or control, get out of their company as fast as you can." (The Message)

Jesus is God.
The same God that guided Moses and the people of Israel out of Egypt.
Who choose to appear before them as a pillar of cloud during the day and as a pillar of fire during the night.
