I get out of my car and I see two little dents and several scratches on the right side of my car, I don't think they were there before. My mind flashes back to pulling forward out of the school parking spot, I remember turning a *tad* early and I thought I was still able to clear everything. I saw a large dent on the front left of the car next to me in the mirror but I figured it was from a previous accident. I would have felt or heard something if I actually hit the car, right?

How much trouble would I be in if I did hit it and somebody saw, or they figure out who did it? Is it best to turn myself in in some way even if I not sure that I hit anything?

An accident resulting in "large" dent is tough to explain away. You'd have to have felt or heard something...unless you had the music turned up way loud and was say, drunk?
Not much too do at this point. If you ran over someone for example they'll likely find you. be more careful and observant from now on...

It is possible to have contact and not be aware of it. On the other hand, a large dent in the other vehicle must have resulted in a jolt to your own.

Ask Paris Hilton what happens next?? Yes, I'd confess to accidentally hitting the vehicle at the nearest police precinct. Good luck!

It is entirely possible to hit someone and not know about it. that being said, now that you're not sure, first contact a lawyer to determine the best course of action, which will most definately include going to the cops to determine if you did in-fact hit someone. Many times your lawyer can find out in advance if there was any report of a hit-and-run in the area you're thinking of. If there's no report, you're ok. If there is, you'll be in a much better position legally coming forward of your own volition than the cops coming to your door and dragging you off to jail.
