To everyone that claims to be a true Christian, Why do you attend church on Sunday instead of the true biblical sabbath.....Saturday? Why do so many Christians break the 4th commandment every week?

Some Christians do attend church on Saturday. Seventh Day Adventists, and Seventh Day Baptists come to mind.

A certain large church changed the worship day from Saturday to Sunday back in history when Constantine wanted all his pagan sun worshipers to be Christians. And this church doesn't go by the bible. They believe that tradition is more important.

We are no longer under the law but under grace. God is not a God who is so bogged down in the LAW of which day you give Him that He cares as much as you apparently do. He cares where our hearts are, not what day our butts are in pews.

We call that legalism, and it's narrow and strangling.

"Jesus observed the Jewish Sabbath (Luke 4:16) and never suggested a change to Sunday. He did, however, reject a strict legalistic interpretation of the Old Testament commandment. He said Sabbath observance was not a duty that mankind owed to God. Rather, God made the Sabbath as a day of rest for mankind's benefit (Mark 2:27). Jesus and His disciples did not observe the strict Jewish rules against doing any work on the Sabbath (Matthew 12:1-14, Mark 2:23-28, 3:1-6, Luke 6:1-11, 13:10-17, 14:1-6, John 5:1-18)."

Because the Old Testament biblical Sabbath is Jewish, not Christian. The Apostles did not change the Sabbath. It is still on Saturday, and Jews still worship then. The Apostles did however establish the Christian day of worship on Sunday because they believed it was more fitting to celebrate worship on the day of Christ's glorious Resurrection than on the day He lay dead in the tomb. Which is why the New Testament tells us the early Church gathered for worship "on the first day of the week".

The Christian Sabbath is on a Sunday, as when the religion was founded the christians decided to change the sabbath day as this would make them more of a separate religion rather than a branch of Judaism.

Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. There are historical reasons for Sunday.. but I worship God everyday. I don't need to keep the Sabbath because I am free from Mosaic law.

The sabbath was established on saturday until Jesus died and resurrected. Since then, we attend church on Sunday to remember His resurrection and celebrate it.

BTW, the sabbath on saturday was the law to follow. That law was broken since, because of Jesus' death and resurrection, we are now under grace.

Because they truly believe what the Bible says...

16Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
