It is the spirituality section. If you don't believe in a something spiritual or aren't religious, why are you here? Why waste your time convincing people of something that doesn't exist? If God doesn't exist and is a figment of one's imagination, why are you wasting your time even arguing.

God doesn't exist, end of story. Why are you wasting your time defending or arguing about something that doesn't exist.

If i didn't believe elephants ca fly, I wouldn't waste 1 minute arguing with someone who believes otherwise. He believes it, good for him. It doesn't concern me.

But why are you athiests arguing day after day against something that allegedly doesn't exist?

Atheist is a faith based religion just like the rest.
It just isn't Spiritual.

One source says that the word believe comes from the anglo saxon words 'to wish'
when a atheist argues that there is no God he/she is as much as anyone else enquiring about what is true fact and what is wishful thinking.People who say they believe does not make it a fact..it is a wishful. Why do people wish or hope there is a God would be a correct approach to getting to the truth or the facts. I surmise and suggest that people who claim as a fact that there is no God do so out of wishful thinking as well They can not prove there isnt a god or prove that there is..Never the less there is an old saying where some one asked a wise man who does God love most the person who is good or the criminal seemingly unkind and cruel and even evil person?

The wise man answered: The unkind and evil person.

How so the enquiring man asked.
Wise Man: Because he is always thinking about God :-)

Perhaps atheist are closer to God then those who profess to believe in God or those who are simpkly indifferent to the idea.?

Certainly if someone believed elephants could fly, you could leave them to their delusion, and never give a second thought.

But what if that delusionist were elected to virtually every seat of government? What if he began to make changes to the constitution based on the delusion? What if your tax dollars were funneled into elephant-wing medical centers?
What if millions of your tax dollars given to youth groups dedicated to teaching the values that only a flying pachyderm could bestow?

What if your work place allowed elephant-wing-based symbols and events, but frowned upon your belief (or lack thereof)?

What if you were persecuted for your lack of belief in flying elephants? Constantly barraged with trunks and feathers?

What if people began attributing all the good in their life to these elephants? What if they began surrendering their free will to those glorious winged-saviors?

You wouldn’t be ignoring one crazy, delusional person on the side of the road. You would be ignoring 80% of the population.

You do know this is a drink question, don't you?
I'm a 'pantheist'. But, the atheists have great answers and I trust their answers the most to teach me something.
Since you obviously don't want to learn about others religious beliefs (which would include why some lack any) why are you here?

in order to be atheist you have to know something about religion to completely dismiss it

I can answer questions accurately and unbiased and will even quote verses

maybe deep down I am hoping to find everlasting life

I would also like to be superman ,but this could be a more plausible thing to further study

Because the lies of religion affect every person who lives on this planet. I want you and your evil controlling influences removed from my life and will fight for my rights to believe or not believe in whatever I want.

>>If i didn't believe elephants ca fly, I wouldn't waste 1 minute arguing with someone who believes otherwise.

What if well-mobilized lobbyists wanted flying elephants to be taught in classrooms? What if people told you that flying elephants made rules for us that had to be enforced by federal and state governments? Would you still be indifferent then?

"why are you athiests arguing day after day against something that allegedly doesn't exist?"

Because there are people who do think it exists and they would deprive the rest of us of our rights by imposing their beliefs on us.

Religion exists. It has affected my life since I was born. I want to talk about it. So there. Etc.

Religion and Spirituality are the SUBJECTS, not the requirements. Do you see only dogs posting in the Dogs section?

If people didn't try to FORCE their sadistic, immoral, killer God on others, atheists likely wouldn't have much reason to educate them as to why they will always fail. Besides, it's fascinating to read about WHY Christians worship a being who slaughtered more people than Hitler, isn't it?
