Is harassing you? He can't be more than 21 and weigh more than 120 soaking wet. Anyways, he pulled me over said I was speeding (speed trap) I was going at the most 37 in a 35 and gave me a warning. I was not rude to him or anything like that. I have a distintive car, and he has followed me twice since the. I called the station and left 2 messages for someone to call me I wanted to file a complaint. Have not gotten a phone call back. I go out of my way now to make sure I am no where near where this speed trap is set up, because I don't want to be followed and harassed

yes I do consider it harassment when he follows me for NO REASON I don't know if SOME of you know how to read but, I was followed twice after the first incident and I was going the speed limit. Yes congrats! I did say I was going 37 the first time if some @$$ cop wants to give me a ticket for going 2 mph over the speed limit he can write me 10 more tickets. He has to do the paperwork at the end of the day, and I can pay the citations. By me refering to him as a young punk he is and he is abusing his "power" following me and trying to intimidate and scare me. As far as them not returning my phone calls I summed it up to being lazy and figured he was a perv too. Don't get me wrong I do have respect for the officers who do thier job and keep my area safe. When someone targets me instead of the person going 40 in front of me he's either a jerk or lazy!

oKAY... i'LL TAKE MEDICAL ADVICE FROM A COP. iF A COP SAYS IT'S TRUE IT MUST BE. What exactly do you have to do to pass a test to be a cop? Seriously, some of you can't even read. I never filed a complaint yet. Perhaps I should of been more detailed and specific, I do consider it being followed, when you pull out just after me follow me to "my destination" aka a short ways up the road look at me, turn around, and 20 minutes later your in the same spot you pulled out of 20 minutes earlier than that and do it over again.

Sorry no offense the the cops that can read but some of you must be dumb as dirt and it scares me that you carry guns. What about that sheriff's deputy that went postal on his gf and others teens.* Shakes head* they must of had it comin' they must give anyone a badge and gun these day. Kudos to you p!g$. I mean cops.

Cops stick together. It is the cops against everyone else mentality. Filing a complaint is the first step but don't expect anything at all to be done. Once it is on file though keep reporting incidents. You may need to get a lawyer to pursue this further.

Where I worked, there was an office set up to take complaints and compliments on officers and civilians. You can either call and request to speak to a Sergeant in the Patrol Office or go down to headquarters and talk with them and file your complaint.

He is probably assigned to the area so there may well have been times you thought he was following you when he was actually just patroling the area as part of his job. Could be your conscience is getting to you?

Right now, you really don't have anything that you can prove so going down and trying to file a complaint is actually going to make you look rather silly.

Make an appointment with your local Magistrate or Probate Judge and let them know about your concerns with this officer - I almost guarantee you'll get some satisfaction taking this approach.

On the other hand - the boys in blue out there have the worst stinking job in the country. They never know from day to day if they're going to pull over a crack head for doing 37 in a 35 zone and be shot with a two dollar pistol stolen from the latest b and e.

These guys are out there to keep you and me safe...and I realize this is the real world and some in this group abuse their power but still, if I'm in a bar and some nut job pulls a gun, I want a cop around. There are many more good Cops out there risking their lives everyday than there are bad.

Good Luck.

How is this harrassment? You admitted yourself that you were speeding.....though I have reservations about you saying that you were only "doing 37 in a 35.) I think you are upset because the Officer stopped you and it may have been an inconveniance to you, and now you think you can complain against an Officer doing his job? Let me tell you why nobody has called you back, because your complaint is FRIVOLOUS......and our supervisors KNOW that people constantly call to make frivolous complaints.....the reason why I am judging you? I can already see that you have no respect for law enforcement by you saying "some young punk cop," and you get OUT OF A TICKET and now you want to complain?? WOW.....maybe he should have wrote you a few tickets then......

A cop did this to my gf a few years back. He would constantly harass her and when he had a buddy with him he would try to harass me. After many months of this I caught him sneaking around in the backyard of one of my rental houses. I took an empty beer bottle and threw at him and hit him in the head with it. His buddy was in the b/w circling the block but was not about to stop and help him. I went to the chief the next day and told him that if I ever caught this PUNK again he would not walk away from the situation. I also went to my attorney with it and eventually was pointed to the proper avenue for my complaint. I cost him his job in the end.

Document dates and times and conversations after the fact.
If the police do not respond, send it to the city mayor or DA.
That will grab the attention you need.

Just like any job performance problem, solid documentation is a must.

How is he harassing you? He followed you? Twice?!? OMG, call the FBI! He stopped you for speeding because you were. It is NOT considered harassment to stop and cite people when they violate traffic laws. I suspect you were actually going faster than 37.

I have no idea why his age and weight are relevant to this discussion.

girl, all you need is the # on top of his car, or the liscence plate number..
not only that, how can a cop be 21?!?!? thats hard to believe. when you call the station, dont leave a message, ask to speak to a supervisor or speak to the person who answers the phone.
something similar to this happend to me not too long ago, a guy in a new suburban truck tried to pull me over, screaming out the window and showing me some badge... and i said to him that i wasnt going to pull over, i was gonna verify that he is a cop first. ((( =D )))
and sure enuff, i got on the fone with the local PD, and the guy took off. so, dont hesitate to call them before you even pull over... and they will have all of that on record, and also will tell you if he is an actual cop!!!

He may have a crush on you??? Anyways, yup this is a common story, cops love to harass particular citizens. I remember I lived on a main street and had this really hot girl friend. She would come over and leave at night and she would have to drive down this street. She would tell me the cops would pull her over and search her car just so they can check her out. There is a reason they are called "Pigs".

Get his name and badge number and go to the station personally. They would have to see and talk to you then.
