No, that is not a white lie. That is flat out deception.

Any pastor that teaches evolution instead of creation is teaching against the word of God and the Holy Bible. Before he died, Darwin admitted that evolution was impossible and he didn't believe it himself. There is no such thing as a "white lie". In the Lord's eyes, a "white lie" is no different than any other lie. The more people that believe in evolution, the more people are subject to spending eternity outside the realm of God in heaven, or in hell. I don't know that carbon dating is from the devil, but it is certainly is not as accurate as science would have us believe. Having faith and following the Lord is not easy; that's why Christ died--to spare us from condemnation of our sins.

A lie is a lie is a lie, regardless of what color it is. Lying is one of those "Thou shalt not"s in the Ten Commandments. Yet we all do it.
Sure, it'd make faith "easier." But would it really be faith if you knew it (your faith) was based on a lie? Better to tell the truth and have a clear conscience and soul.

Liars do not spend eternity in heaven . Many religious people believe that whatever they do , it will all be forgiven . If we're on this earth as a test , we can't all pass - - - that wouldn't be a test . You take it all with you , right up to the judge's bench .

Pastors should not have to lie to get their followers to believe. Decisions should be based on truth and people should get all the information.

It is not a white lie, it is a complete, bold faced lie, just like when creationists intentionally misquote statements from scientists or others.
Here's a link with list of things that creationists are knowingly lying about

Well, isn't lying "of the Devil"? Then wouldn't (by extrapolation) faith based on a lie be Satanic in nature?

This is an easy one. ALL lies are lies. If you lie to the people who trust you to tell them the truth, can you really even call yourself a Christian? (Matthew 5:37) Just some food for thought.

If a faith is dependent upon known lies, doesn't that say something about the quality of the faith?

A lie is a lie, and it is also a sin. There are no shades of them.
