you know that doesn't make sense don't you? He resides within Christians to confirm the truth but not within non Christians---so how do the non Christians become Christians according to you if it isn't for the Scriptures you say is taken word for word?

The majority of those who claim to 'hear' the Holy Spirit do not. They are called illuminists.

Scripture says a great deal about the conditions necessary before one is uncluttered enough to detect the gentle voice of God speaking in the depths of a person.

For illuminists, those who have so assurred themselves that they have privileged access to the Holy Spirit, no amount of external evidence will change their minds.

Those who have the most reliable experiences of God place the least stock in it. Those who readily speak of listening to the Spirit for specific directions are probably the least likely to be in contact with him.

In the whole of the Church's history, our most authentic and lofty mystics are the men and women who are the least impressed with detailed messages from God. (St John of the Cross, St Teresa of Avila, etc)

The Holy Spirit resides within Christians and is able to help them with interpretation of scripture. However, he does not reside in non-Christians. So the eunuch, not yet being a Christian, did not have his full presence to help him with the understanding. That is why he needed a preacher.

If you read in Romans 10, you will find there that Paul says the same thing. He states that for people to believe they have to have heard the word of God, and they can only do that if someone preaches it to them. (Then he gives a blessing to those who are doing that.)

Sadly, just being baptised isn't enough. Calling oneself born again in the Spirit won't do it either.

If that were enough there wouldn't be more than a thousand Christian sects out there all blatting that THEY are the only ones with the Truth, the whole truth and nothing but the Truth, now would there?

the word only makes sense to those are willing to
accept YESHUA. once we have accepted YESHUA we are then able to ask for the RUACH HAKODESH. the
SPIRIT helps us to understand the truth. the problem is
in the accepting of the SPIRIT. i know many who never
thank the SPIRIT for it's insights and therefore never receive
any.
praise is a huge part of faith. few use it!
