What worked for you when you potty trained your daughters? At what age did you start training?

I have six (6) girls and (6) boys. The girls were easy. My knuckle heads did not want a clean bottom.
When they stop sucking the bottle or breast around 18 months then I started putting mines on the potty. They have enhanced potty chairs that entice the kids to go. When I went I took my girls in the bathroom with me and said, "mommy potty." They wanted to do what I was doing. Some of my girls would take their diapers off. This was an indication that they are ready also. It took about 4-6 weeks for my girls to learn.
Happy potty training!

I introduce the potty around 18 months to 2 years. I'll show them how to go about this time as well. As they get closer to 2 1/2 or 3, I will let them pick out underwear and put them on the potty more and just sort of ease into it. When I'm really serious and they are ready we just go straight to underwear and deal with the accidents until they are trained. I'll also put them on the potty every 2 hours or so to prevent accidents.

Well, I have a 3 year, 1 month old, and she has been potty trained now for just a couple of weeks. I did this for a couple of reasons, one of them being that I have a 9 month old who requires a lot of my attention, and I was at the point that changing diapers was actually easier than dealing with the constant accidents. So, I waited, and boy am I happy I did! We went cold turkey! No diapers at all, not at night, not during naps, etc. My mom told me to wait until my daughter said she wanted to wear panties, and I just know that that would never happen! So what I did was look at the calendar with my daughter, we decided on "panties" day, and that morning I took off her diaper, threw it away, and I told her we didn't have any more diapers. She didn't want to wear panties, so I said that was fine, she could be naked. That's it. When we leave the house, she has to wear panties, but when we're home, she can be naked or wear panties. I'm very happy that I chose to wait, we've only had 5 accidents, that's it. So much better for me, than dealing with lots of accidents and a newborn... Goodluck!

I started my daughter at 18 months. Those little miniature toilet bowl thingys are disgusting, so I opted for a sesame street glow in the dark toilet seat that fits right over a regular toilet bowl.

I told her it's what big girls like mommy use, and I never switched her back and forth from pull ups to diapers. I also called her pull up "panties" telling her, yet again, that it is what big girls like mommy wear.
Here is a Disney Princess one:

I "tried" with my daughter a few times, but it wasn't working, so I stopped. Then she was turning 3 and we were going to FLA to Disney and I told her she had to wear big girl pants on the plane and at Disney and it worked. She was ready at 3, but hadn't been ready earlier, and rather than driving myself crazy, I left her in pull-ups until she was ready, and when she was ready--she was done--easy. ONly problem was she seemed to have a fascination with toilet facilities and whenever we were out (even though she "went" before we left) she had to go--NOW. So I found the bathroom at Jewel, before they had public facilities like now, at Walgreens, you name it. And it wasn't fun, nor particularly hygienic. Anyway, wait until she is ready, don't push it just because your friends' daughters are trained. Talk to your daughter, buy some pretty/character panties, keep her in pullups at night. Don't worry about nights until day is done, and ask her about it.
