The most common thing is bite wounds, which can be quite severe and are very prone to infection and abcess. Call your local animal control officer and tell them there is an injured animal loose, they should come out and trap it so it can get medical attention.

The most common injuries are bite marks to ears, neck, underbelly. Scratch or claw marks to belly, back, face. These injuries can be serious as they can get infected so easily. I had a vet tell me there was nothing more dirty than the inside of a cats mouth, not even a dog.

It is better to stop them fighting them any way you can - like with a water hose. Cats have been know to even lose an eye in some of the fights.

Cats fight with their back claws and thus are often injured on their belly or under their legs. Also scratches on head, you'll feel little scabs of dried blood. Check your cat out, because cats get scratched in fights, and those scratches can become infected, abscessed. Don't know about the other cat limping.

I have seen plenty of cat fights in my time and I own several cats. If you ever see cats fight they literally attach themselves to each other. They roll around on the ground clinging to each other-hair flying, literally!. My cats mostly come home with claw marks to their ears and face. Are you sure it was your cat that injured this other cat? A snake may have bit it, or some other animal may have injured it. Just by it limping around I doubt it's real serious, but if you truly care then try and catch this stray and check it out for yourself or take it to the animal shelter to be checked out. (I say the animal shelter because it will probably be a lot cheaper than the vet!)

Not for now but give the cat a few days and it could be.
cats have a lot of bacteria in there mouths. and one bit to another cat or animal for that matter spells a serious infection.
the other cat will get an abcess but if its owner is vigilant they will take him to a vet and get it sorted out.
So I sugest if your cat ever comes in after a fight with bite marks or wounds take it to the vet.

Lacerations from claws, claws coming off, and bite wounds are common during cat fights. Keep the 2 seperated.
