your truth is not their truth, so why tell others about it and belittle other people's version of truth by saying they are wrong?

just wondering.

Personally I don't take offense at others disagreeing with my beliefs. I just know what I have experienced as a result of discovering the truth. And watching supernatural events unfold in front of my eyes on a daily basis makes me wish I could share it with the world. However, I will never purposely belittle anyone for their beliefs. I personally am a very satisfied spiritual Christian without religion.

Take care.

First, anyone who is truly a follower of Christ does not run around "blaming" other people for being offended.

Second, your question talks about "your truth" and "their truth".....but you forget that TRUTH is NOT subjective. It is objective. Something is either true or it isn't. It doesn't matter WHO speaks it or who believes (or disbelieves) it; if it's Truth, it's Truth, period. There is no "my truth" and "your truth".

There IS, on the other hand "your twisted version of the truth" and their "twisted version of the truth"....that's a whole different thing.

I do not belittle PEOPLE, because they can believe what they want to. I do try to debate people's twisted beliefs, however.

If you think that my telling someone that they are wrong is "belittling" them, then you have twisted the right to speak the OBJECTIVE truth with being defensive and abusive. They are not the same thing.

But then, my guess is that you don't believe in objective truth....you think that everybody's "truth" is true. Right?

NOTE TO GELFLING: Just so you know, I couldn't care less how many verses you can quote that you consider "vile". Anybody can take anything out of context and without understanding it make it appear to be something that supports their personal opinion. It doesn't offend me. I just find it a pathetic attempt to discredit something you say you don't believe in anyway.....that's like trying to discredit unicorns. What would be the point, if you don't believe in unicorns?

There is only one Truth. And it comes from God. Whether others choose to believe it or not is up to them. But that doesn't make the truth any different. It is still the Truth.

There is only one Truth---Jesus. Several different truths or the theory of relativity is the #1 reason the Masons are so bad. They refuse the idea that there is absolute truth.

This Christian does not blame anybody for disagreeing with me. I did not know that it was wrong of me to tell someone that they are wrong. You are always telling me I am wrong and calling me names at the same time. So who is ridiculing who?

I don't care for Democrats because they call me names when I disagree with them. No mature debate or conversation, just name-calling. How mature?

The same thing happens regarding my Christian faith. I am always open to debate and intelligent conversation. I am not open to name calling and belittling just because you think it is ok. It isn't.

I am willing to agree to disagree---are you?

I think the answer to this question is: We are all flawed human beings! And Christians (whether "fundies" or not) are just like every other human. I wish we were all perfect but then we wouldn't have needed Christ! Just realize, there are people who belittle and judge and their religion is just their cover. They'd be doing it if they were atheist, buddhist, or whatever (and many of them do). Be blessed!

Because they think their truth is The Truth.

The only Truth is that there is no truth that is true for EVERYone.

There's no such thing as "their" truth and "our" truth. There is only THE Truth.

"I am THE way, and THE Truth, and THE life. No one comes to the Father but by Me." John 14:6

"Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another." Matthew 24:9-10

How do we know that Christianity is the "right" religion? Because it's the only one whose founder is still alive.

I belittle no-one. I will stand by what the word of God says, if it says it is wrong, do not try to tell me it is right. If you can not believe the instruction book, don't pretend to live the life, on that I will call anyone down on.
