Those dates are when many things will be going on. Lots of costume parties and events. After the storm not as crazy as it has been in past years but I think this year will return to many costume wearers and a good time. There is a lot going on!

Probably during that time it's gonna be like that spring/summer transitional weather. A little cold yet too warm. You'll probably be putting on like a wind breaker and down the road taking it off. No steadiness in the weather during that time. Probably will be raining so pack for walking in wet weather. Most likely there will be various halloween parties and get-togethers so costumes will be a plenty. During this time and all the times, in the French Quarter a mask can not fully cover the face. jabril♂♀

it is generally crazy. first of all there is "voodoo fest" going on which is a 3 day music festival. then there is a tattoo convention going on AND there is usually a huge rave the saturday night before halloween. you definitely wouldn't be out of place if you were to be in costume. i'll be there for the tattoo convention but will not be in costume because... i just feel like being a party pooper.

The crowd is always crazy, so you can bring you nasty outfit and feel at home.

This year since halloween is on a wednesday, the Saturday before should not be super crowded.

There are other events going on like Voodo, but they are minor compared to the other big events.
