Now let's see: Invisible man in the sky... ancient sheephearder stories... a pregnant woman (with a boyfriend) who never had sex... original sin, slavery, genocide, plagues, bets with the devil, and this God is considered a GOOD guy?

That's like someone wearing their underwear to work on the outside, just BEGGING for jocular ridicule!

I believe in Evolution and fully expect people who don't really understand it to ridicule me. This is proven every day on YA with people claiming that I think we evolved from monkeys and that Evolutionists are without morals.
It doesn't bother me, because I know that my belief is based on evidence that I can point to and rely on in a pinch.

I guess ridicule is considered persecution by believers because they have nothing to come back with.

I'm Wiccan so I get enough flak from Christians about it that it feels like persecution. So now I really don't discuss it a whole lot (just like I wear my underwear on the inside...)

The opportunity to ridicule others for whatever reason says far more about the ridiculer than the ridiculed.

Yes it is persecution but not legally prohibited unless you physically interfere with a persons right to believe as they choose.

It is just another waste of time and energy. As creative as you sound, it is a shame that you are not directing this energy into something positive and useful. Must be a 'guy' thing???

I don't get offended when people ridicule my beliefs, so I don't see that as persecution.
