My friend is having a big problem and asked me to post this question. Her husband, is in denial since a long time, but she is very concerned. I don't know how to help her either! He is only in his 40's and is a good man with a terrible desease! Can anyone help?

He doesn't urinate in his bed every day. Once a month and drinks 3 or 4 times a week at night only.

Is it affecting his kidneys? The bladder?

Probably was too intoxicated & didn't wake up to urinate. But it will eventually lead to liver & kidney failure. He needs help for his problem, but if he won't admit to it there is not alot that can be done. Maybe an intervention with her & some family members might help him see what he is doing. Other than that it will be up to him. Hopefully with some guidance he can get some medical help & support for his addiction. My prayers are with your friend.

He needs to get help for both the drinking and the urinating. Does she know if its just that he can't control it and thats why its occurring, or if he's to lazy to get out of bed?? I wud suggest that he needs to see a doctor. But unfortunately, unless he admits he has a problem theres not a lot you can do. Hope the situation works out for your friend.

Avoid alcohol and caffeinated beverages, particularly coffee, which can overstimulate your bladder.
