I want to go to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis. If I joined the Marine Corps Reserve would that give me a better shot at going to the academy?

No. Having excellent grades, SAT scores, and letters of recommendations from high raking military officials and/or senators would help you get a appointment to Annapolis.
It’s really hard to get into so preparation sooner rather than later is essential.

Not at all. Your grades and SAT scores, like any other college will get you in. If you are an enlisted marine in the reserves you can forget it.
