When even President Bush has stopped denying the existence of Global warming, and proposed that America do something about it at the latest ASEAN summit, I cannot help but wonder if those who continue to deny...just haven't checked their inboxes lately?
The latest thing seems to be to acknowledge global warming but deny human involvement in it. Was that in last months inbox perhaps?

No.
Some are being misled by the disinformation campaign. Ron C seems to fall into that group.
Others are just radical conservatives. If environmentalists or worse, Al Gore, say something it has to be wrong.
They should maybe listen to Newt:
"Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"
Still others are honestly mistaken. Mr Jello is a good example.
The number of people who are truly plotting is pretty small. Certainly on Yahoo answers, anyway.
wizard 8100 - "When scientists instead of politicians say that it is real, I will believe it." This do it for you?
There's vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_opinion_on_climate_change
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/306/5702/1686
"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know... Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point. You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."
Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

When scientists instead of politicians say that it is real, I will believe it.
An no, a "scientific community" that is still made up of mostly politicians does not cut it either.
I remember the Global Cooling scare. And the idiots that are younger than I am that say it was a theory, not a widespread "fact" like global warming can explain to me why I was taught the Global Cooling facts in a government run school for three years straight!
Perhaps some facts would be in order too. That would help convince me, instead of the the whole lemming idea of "everyone else believes that it is real, so you should too."
Where are the hurricanes that have been predicted for the last two years?
Where is the wet summer I was promised back in March?
Why is Mars getting warmer too?
Follow the money people. That will tell you who is behind Global Warming. Smoking is bad for you, but they will not completely outlaw it like any other harmful drug as long as they get fat of the taxes.
CFC's were never proven to harm the Ozone layer, but Dupont, the biggest lobby for the Freon ban, had lost the patent rights and held all the patents on the replacements.
Guess what, if Freon harms the Ozone layer, so do the replacements! They are still a chlorine based compounds! Why aren't they banned too? Oh, that's right, the patents have not run out on them yet. Wanna bet that the whole Ozone thing will come up again once they do?
Stop the manipulation and DEMAND FACTS, and stop listening to politicians and salesmen posing as scientists.

Unfortunately most people get their information from the popular media.
This is true of people on either side of the issue.
Most people do not have access to the peer reviewed professional scientific literature and most people do not have the scientific background to understand the professional scientific literature if they did have access to it.
Unfortunately the popular media is extremely unreliable.
One of the big reasons that the popular media is unreliable is that the popular media has become a form of entertainment rather than a reliable source of information.
The stories in the popular media are often exagerrated and even fabricated for the purpose of attracting more viewers, not for the purpose of providing accurate information.
The result is that people on both sides of the issue are badly misinformed.
Also, because the popular media is unreliable, people can, with justification dismiss the stories in the popular media as being inaccurate and in some cases completely fabricated.
It is clear from the peer reviewed professional scientific material that we are experiencing Global Warming and human activity contributes a great deal to the Global Warming that we are experiencing.
However, because of the unreliability of the popular media, people can, with justification, say that they do not believe the stories about Global Warming that they read in the popular media.

Wow! A politician says global warming is real, so that's all the scientific proof I need to "believe" as well. Everyone knows that politicians stick to their core values and never pander to the demands of the public to get their vote, especially when an election is just a year away.
Funny with your corporate shill bit. Many corporations are getting rich from the fear that "global warming" is man made. Billions are going to industry, to mega corporations like GE to subsidize wind turbines. Corporate greed knows that "global warming" is very, very, profitable to the tune of $15 BILLION every year.
Sure the Earth is warming. So is the Sun. Where do you think we get all our warmth from?
Added Note: Yes, you're right. Bush isn't running, but his party still is, and I have no doubt that he still is working to get his party elected as the majority once again. Never forget that global warming is a political issue, not a scientific one.
This is the reason why a judge ruled that Algore's film needs a disclaimer signed before kids can watch that propaganda film.

In my opinion, if you take your scientific knowledge from concensus, politicians, and/or scientists seeking grants and pushing political agendas, you have no scientific knowledge at all. It is always interesting to me that most on the alarmist side advocate concensus and shutting up skepticism apparently because they have very little evidence to back up their claims. If they had facts on their side and if they weren't ruled by emotion, skepticism wouldn't draw so much anger.
