it could be because your cat scratch that area when it itches just like how they scratch their necks and everything else... you should buy a flea collar and save the doctor's fee its not that serious.

Yes, certainly could be. As the area is on the chin, it could be feline acne, especially if it's kind of little black dots there. But if you're noth regularly treating your cat with a proper product (i.e from a vets, NOT a store) then it's very likely your cat has fleas. Comb her fur, and look for small black flakes/specks on the fur on the comb - this is flea dirt!!

It could or a 100 other things. Without seeing it , it's anyones guess. Cats can also get kitty acne, especially if using plastic dishes, ring worm, scratch, virus, just to name a few. If you are worried take her to the vet. You can comb the cat and check for fleas. The easy way is to put on a white paper towel barely damp so it doesn't tear easy, put the kitty on top and comb her. Now look on the paper towel. is there black specs with a red, brownish ring around them? She has fleas if you see it.

mm well two possibilities present themselves, either little furball has been in a fight or fleas have set up camp, either way a vet might be able to explain it. if its cat fights then i wouldn't worry too much, i've never heard of a cat fight reaching death (but who knows? maybe there are some real nasty ones out there?) and if its fleas of a health problem the vet might have something for it. give it a scratch behind the ears for me... i love cats lol. oh and flea collars aren't always the best course, sometimes cats necks are a bit too big or they just give your cat a load of grief, try one on for size and if it's not working out well then try the vet (flippin money grabbers...)

It sounds like feline acne, not a flea bite. You need to wash your cat's chin (gently, with a damp washcloth) and clean his food bowls. If it doesn't go away soon or your cat seems uncomfortable with it, take the cat to the vet for some antibiotics because that would mean it got infected.

My cats gets sores periodically on their chins also. It very well could be from his scratching from fleas. My outside cat sometimes has a swollen area on his chin for a few days and it pops and drains by itself. I think he got bit by something and it gets infected when he scratches. If your cat is a messy eater he might be getting food in a sore irritating the spot.

Often flea infestations can leave scabbed, rough areas on your Cat's skin...especially if your cat has an allergy or especially sensitive skin. Do you notice your cat scratching excessively? Look for other spots, especially in 'armpits' and on your cat's belly. If that's the only spot, it's more than likely he managed to scratch himself on something.
