it's all they have...
reason contradicts them, science contradicts them...
their books even contradict themselves, but they can overlook and "explain away" because it is "their" book
and if you don't believe it you're going to he!!, and they are going to candy mountain with their magickal sky daddy...blah blah blah

Don't you also copy and paste from the Bible? Why do you want to prohibit me from copying and pasting answers from the Catechism or the Vatican archives? Most of the questions here are repeated again and again. Do you want us to type original answers every time a question about purgatory is asked?

I do not understand this vitriolic dislike for Catholics. I am not crazy about the present pope, but I like John Paul II very much.
All religions have validity for the worshipper. We can and should respect each other based upon humanity and love as Christ taught and Bhudda did as well. As have others.
Political parties, flavors of faith and that don't need to preclude us from fellowship or respect. I am not a Catholic, but belong to a Mainstream church generally considered protestant.
Is my church wrong because we allow members high personal freedom? don't ask or care about sexuality? Because we ordain women? have a woman bishop as head of our church? Of course not!
But we do not have exclusivity on virtue or have all the answrs either.
Christ does not provide a door to salvation for just the Episcopalians or Catholics or Baptists or any one group; nor does he exclude any of these!
I think it is better to worry about our own failings and our own salvation instead of trying to diminish anyone else's path.
My church is not exclusively right or wrong and I think we all have some of the answers, but not all by any means.

Catholics have a teaching authority guided by the Holy Spirit, as promised by Jesus Christ when He told the Apostles (the 1st Catholic Bishops): "He who hears you, hears Me." Further, its teaching authority is headed by the Pope, who is the successor of Pope St. Peter.
Conversely, Protestants are governed by their feelings. If it feels good to disgard the Deuterocanonicals from the Holy Bible, then it is acceptable to them. If it feels good to add the word "alone" to Romans, this it is acceptable to them. If it feels good to ignore any Scripture that makes them uncomfortable or conflicts with their "personal' interpretation of Scripture, it is ignored.
Which is why there are over 40,000 Protestant ecclesial communities all claiming to be lead by the Holy Spirit, but no two of them can agree on the same thing. They know this weakness, the fact that Jesus established the Catholic Church (they came around 1,500+ years later...and are still developing new groups.), the fact that the Holy Bible was written and defined by the Catholic Church, and they attempt in vain to justify their sin of pride by casting stones at the true Apostolic Church.

If someone asked what was 2 + 2. I would say 4.
If 100 people asked what was 2 + 2. I would say 4 100 times. The truth does not change.
If someone asked why Catholics pray to saints then I would answer from my heart and give a link for more information.
If 100 people asked me why Catholics pray to saints then I would still answer from my heart and give a link for more information 100 times. The truth does not change.
My answers are written from the heart even if they were originally written six months ago. And I do tweak and improve them as I learn more and learn to communicate better.
With love in Christ.

at least the stuff they cut and paste is interesting and usually informative, and not hateful or denigrating to others. Although I'm not really keeping track of who the heck is what around here.

I agree, but would extend the criticism to the dude who answers every question with..."Remember...God is just a construct of the human imagination..." or whatever the crap it is that he says.

Do you want an informative answer, or do you want a one-liner? One liners often do not answer the question. And, the only way to counter false information is with more TRUE information. I can't help it if you have an attention deficit disorder and can only handle on sentence at a time.

The truth is always the truth. We belive that faith is not a matter of the individual heart, but of God's revelation.

why do non catholics Always refer to catholics as if that definitvely includes every last one of us, and then Always use impossible superlatives that can't possibly include all one billion of us, and then don't Ever think that that use of exaggeration is noticed by Anybody, Ever......by the way ,cut and paste isn't 'all We have'...it's a little technique Trillions of non catholics use,but i sense your disdain when applied by people whose belief system makes you ill. why then ,oh why, do you keep asking us to explain ourselves....
