Duet. 28:53 You shall eat the fruit of your own body: This became horribly true in the days of the later kingdom. 2 Kings 6:24-30 describes a famine so severe in a besieged Israelite city that there was a fight between two women over eating their children! A terrible fulfillment of the promise, he will not give any of the flesh of his children whom he will eat. Lamentations 4:1-11 vividly describes the horrors of the siege of Jerusalem.
Maybe society will be this bad again during the tribulation, or will you take the mark of the beast so that you can eat?

You cannot recognize this as a promised punishment to ancient Israel for disobedience and not a commandment?
Read the whole chapter of Deuteronomy 28 and you will see clearly that it is.
BTW you missed the blessings that come before this for obedience.

the And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body is not a commandment, it is a prophesy. If you read, its an old testament story that tells of a city which will besieged and that is how they will survive.
