I am a Christian and I can't explain it. That is because I don't believe it. Not all Christians subscribe to the trinity. God the Father and his son Jesus are no more the same than any other father and son. The holy ghost is also a separate person. The doctrine of the trinity itself came about around the 4th century AD because of quarreling among various factions and the emperor got tired of it so basically commanded them to meet and come up with a statement that resulted in this strange doctrine. It was not 'doctrine' until that time.
Personally, I think it would be deception for Jesus to be talking to himself as would be required under this trinity doctrine. It is clear to logic and common sense that the Father and Son are separate beings. It is the only thing that makes sense.
John 17
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
To gain eternal life we must know the nature of God and Jesus Christ whom he sent. Pretty clear to me.

It is true that some compare the trinity to being a father, husband and brother. Still, did this man get married at some point or was he born a husband? Did he become a father at some point or was he born a father? At first blush this illustration may seem to explain the trinity but it does not. For according to the Bible, God has always been and will always be God. He has always existed and always will exist. But the father, husband, brother, above has not always been father, husband and brother, has he?
According to the full definition (which you may read as supplied above), "the whole three persons are coeternal, and coequal . . . that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and man."
That being said, evidently, since Jesus is God, God died. Yet scripture teaches that it is impossible for God to die. God has always existed and always will. Yet Jesus died. Moreover, God is a lover of justice - who made sure that the scales of justice were balanced when he provided the propitiatory sacrifice. The animal sacrifices were not enough. God almighty dying would be too much. Thus, if the trinity doctrine be true, the paid ransom was too much. Like a human being dying to ransom a beloved pet mouse. How unreasonable, how presumptuous to think that The Most High God of the Universe died for humans.
Furthermore, Jesus' propitiatory sacrifice ransomed back what was lost. Which means what was lost was God Almighty - a God-man. Which means Adam was God Almighty - a god-man. Yet the scriptures teach that Adam was human – no more and no less.
According to the definition above, ". . . there is one person of the Father, another of the Son, . . . there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons . . ." Thus, Jesus is not the father. Yet Jesus referred to the father as the only true God. John 17:3. Indeed, before his death, after his resurrection, but before his return to the heavens, and after his return to the heavens, he referred to his father as the only true God, as God and as His God. John 17:3; John 20:17; Revelation 3:12
In view of all of the foregoing, how can the doctrine of the trinity possibility be reconciled with God's revealed word? Indeed, how can such a thing possibly exist? It cannot.

Father, Son, Holy Spirit (3 persons, a million God); psychological, actual, religious/Emotional/expertise (3 factors, a million individual); the "Father" is the "psychological element"; the "Son" is the "actual element"; the "Holy Spirit" is the "religious/emotional/unsleeping element". the daddy created the universe in the time of the Son, so God as an entire delivered creation into life by utilising thinking it into its actual state. the daddy loves the Son, and the Son loves the daddy, and the affection which binds them is the Holy Spirit. 3 factors that as an entire are One, which includes 1 strategies, One physique, One Love/Spirit. i've got additionally heard it whilst in comparison with a "marriage" interior the experience that the suited Love uniting the persons of the Trinity as One strategies, physique, and soul in love is a Love that creates new life, like in marriage. i've got heard it defined an impressive variety of diverse methods.

Perhaps it's been explained to you, you might not be receiving the explanation though. Jesus talked about people who can see and yet are blind, hear but not perceive.
Let's give this a try. If you cannot understand it, then I guess you are one of them:
God tells angels to worship Him:
6 And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says,
"Let all God's angels worship him." (Hebrews 1 & Psalm 45)
God calls Jesus God:
8 But about the Son he says,
"Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever,
and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.
9You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
by anointing you with the oil of joy."
(Hebrews 1 & Psalm 45)
Jesus says that God is Spirit:
24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." (John 4)
Jesus calls God the Father:
John 20:17
Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' "
Jesus says that the Father and him are one:
30 "I and the Father are one."
Jesus calls himself 'from everlasting to everlasting ':
58"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!" (John 8)
Jesus is in Daniel 7 as the Most High, having a separate set of independent actions from the Ancient of Days:
13 "In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
21 As I watched, this horn was waging war against the saints and defeating them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgment in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came when they possessed the kingdom.
So did you or didn't you?

The Bible doesn't use this term. So not all Christians use it, either. Scripture refers to the Godhead. This is composed of separate divine personages who are unified in purpose.

It is the greatest and most ongoing beautiful love story ever. It is also the greatest mystery since it invoves an Infinite God. It is therefore impossible to understand it completely. But some attempts have been made to explain it somewhat. Simply put, the Trinity is the ongoing activity within God of knowing and loving Himself. For instance, we know God is, at least, one person, since we are a person. In other words, we cannot be something surperior to God in that most important aspect of our existence. Therefore, God is, at least, one Person. Ask yourself. Is it not reasonable that God is aware of His own existence? He knows (Intellect) he exists and can, so to speak, "see Himself". This is sort of like producing (begetting) an exact image of Himself. He likes (Will) this begotton (but not made) image of Himself. Love proceeded from this activity. ALL ACTIVITY WITHIN GOD IS GOD AND IS EQUAL TO GOD. THEREFORE, EACH BASIC ACTIVITY WITHIN GOD IS ENTITLED TO BE A PERSON. God the Father is One Person. God is aware (an activity equal to a Person) of His existence in begetting His Son. Love (a Will activity equal to a Person) proceeds from the Father and the Son. In God, since His Intellect and Will are one, there is still only ONE God (Three Persons in One God). In humans, the activity of intellect and will are separate. All this activity within God has always been ongoing. All this LOVE between the three Persons spills over into creation. God is LOVE. Therefore, there is no such thing a one person god, since a real God has to be aware of his own existence.

1. Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the catholic faith;
2. Which faith except every one do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly.
3. And the catholic faith is this: That we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity;
4. Neither confounding the persons nor dividing the substance.
5. For there is one person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Spirit.
6. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit is all one, the glory equal, the majesty coeternal.
7. Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Spirit.
8. The Father uncreated, the Son uncreated, and the Holy Spirit uncreated.
9. The Father incomprehensible, the Son incomprehensible, and the Holy Spirit incomprehensible.
10. The Father eternal, the Son eternal, and the Holy Spirit eternal.
11. And yet they are not three eternals but one eternal.
12. As also there are not three uncreated nor three incomprehensible, but one uncreated and one incomprehensible.
13. So likewise the Father is almighty, the Son almighty, and the Holy Spirit almighty.
14. And yet they are not three almighties, but one almighty.
15. So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God;
16. And yet they are not three Gods, but one God.
17. So likewise the Father is Lord, the Son Lord, and the Holy Spirit Lord;
18. And yet they are not three Lords but one Lord.
19. For like as we are compelled by the Christian verity to acknowledge every Person by himself to be God and Lord;
20. So are we forbidden by the catholic religion to say; There are three Gods or three Lords.
21. The Father is made of none, neither created nor begotten.
22. The Son is of the Father alone; not made nor created, but begotten.
23. The Holy Spirit is of the Father and of the Son; neither made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding.
24. So there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Spirit, not three Holy Spirits.
25. And in this Trinity none is afore or after another; none is greater or less than another.
26. But the whole three persons are coeternal, and coequal.
27. So that in all things, as aforesaid, the Unity in Trinity and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshipped.
28. He therefore that will be saved must thus think of the Trinity.
29. Furthermore it is necessary to everlasting salvation that he also believe rightly the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
30. For the right faith is that we believe and confess that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and man.
31. God of the substance of the Father, begotten before the worlds; and man of substance of His mother, born in the world.
32. Perfect God and perfect man, of a reasonable soul and human flesh subsisting.
33. Equal to the Father as touching His Godhead, and inferior to the Father as touching His manhood.
34. Who, although He is God and man, yet He is not two, but one Christ.
35. One, not by conversion of the Godhead into flesh, but by taking of that manhood into God.
36. One altogether, not by confusion of substance, but by unity of person.
37. For as the reasonable soul and flesh is one man, so God and man is one Christ;
38. Who suffered for our salvation, descended into hell, rose again the third day from the dead;
39. He ascended into heaven, He sits on the right hand of the Father, God, Almighty;
40. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
41. At whose coming all men shall rise again with their bodies;
42. and shall give account of their own works.
43. And they that have done good shall go into life everlasting and they that have done evil into everlasting fire.
44. This is the catholic faith, which except a man believe faithfully he cannot be saved.
