huh?
I don't even get the 'bread of life' question... that's not bread. I think the answer should be 'rye'.

Anyway... i do have a sense of humor about myself. I do take my spiritual life very seriously... it's not that hard to accept a little joke here and there, but yes, rudeness and disrespect are not cool.

To me disrespect is when you are self-righteous in your answer to the point of trying to put other point of views down. I do not think that Christians are wrong for their belief in Yehweh and Jesus and their belief in the Bible. My only problem is when they put me down for my beliefs in a self-righteous effort to make themselves look good.

When you tell someone what they believe or don't believe, you are playing a nasty game and are not listening to the answers. When Theists tell Atheists that they are void of beliefs, then they are wrong. Atheists usually have a moral code and a belief system. It just does not have a 'supreme being' behind it.
I may not agree with the Atheistic view, but i am not going to tell an Atheist or a Christian or a Muslim what they believe... they know better than i.

I know what i believe, and i am a happy pagan with a sense of humor about my life.

just my opinion on the world

Anything. No matter what you say, it will offend someone.

Instead of trying to be offended by everything, try looking at the reason behind the answer.

For example, you mentioned the Flying Spaghetti Monster. That, actually, is a serious answer, not a joke. The reason the FSM mythos was created was to counter the introduction of Creationism into schools. If you can teach "God" in a science class, then you have to equally teach the FSM. There really is no substantive difference between them since they are both myths.

So, when you see the FSM used in an answer, treat is as a response of the category, "How is God different than any other myth you can make up?". Now, you can give a more serious response to the FSM references.

once you're at a definite point (2), you may supply a thumbs all the way down to the impolite comments. which will "conceal" those responses out of your view. I recommend that rather. blockading is only proper if somebody viciously assaults you. in any different case, you extremely will finally end up blockading somebody who could desire to easily be having a bad day or who concept they have been being witty, no longer mean. So, enable it roll off your back whilst somebody seems to be being impolite. supply it a thumbs down and circulate on.

I consider myself a serious committed Christian and I snickered at the bread of life answer. Maybe we'd be better witnesses if we lightened up a bit. Why did sinners follow after Jesus? They saw something in Him they wanted and I don't believe it was a dour, humorless attitude. They saw life and life more abundantly.

How do you expect atheists and unbelievers to answer those questions? Like believers?

The religion of washing feet and turning the other cheek need not be prudish in demanding respect. A sense of humor is one of God's greatest gifts!

In fact, I think we'd do well to read jesus' sayings sometimes as being witty. In Matthew 26 the leader of the Sanhedrin (Caiaphus) asks Jesus if he is the Son of God. jesus replies, "You said it yourself." rather than seeing him as indignant and stone-faced, try seeing him poking fun at the uptight priests. Pslams 82:6 says we are all gods, every one of us the Son of God. I think Jesus was treating the trial like the farce it was. But read it reverantly and he seems like a sardonic prick.

No....these are answers that are silly, not offensive. This is not a religious website, it is an open forum for people to discuss their various ideas and ideals and to ask for and recieve information when they do not know where to look

It depends on the context of the answer. These are sarcastic answers that are funny in person but seem hateful in text. The sarcasm is lost in transmission over the Internet.

I was not aware that this was a religious website. I think I'll turn in my membership card and go find a website where I can ask, answer and discover new things in a secular way.

Lighten up. You are welcome to have your faith, your beliefs and your religion. I encourage you to find what you need to fill that empty spot in your soul. If religion is that, good for you. I'm still looking for something for my fulfillment, because religion doesn't do it for me.

Those answers are lame attempts at humour. The first answer is not disrespectful or rude if the belief is true or used as a demonstration (as it has always been intended) against the unfairness of promoting one religious viewpoint above another.

Many people consider religion to be a big joke, so perhaps it is fair that responding with jokes is appropriate.

Maybe your questions are rude. I mean, really, an invisible man living in the clouds?

P.S. The spaghetti monster is a myth. The real supreme being is The Invisible Pink Unicorn... look it up if you don't believe me.
