Being crucified brought one into total subjection. The feet and hands were nail to the cross. Are you crucified with Christ? Is Christ the one who lives within you? and if He lives in you?what is He doing?

Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

I love the verse that your refering to, I just wish you would have included the next verse.
Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

Now look who is praying, and what their pray is for.

Luke 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith {fail not:} and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Conversion should bring about subjection to the will of God.You are right about the double standard, it doesn't sound right.

We should no longer desire the "old" self, for we are now a new creation through Christ Jesus!
Because we still are weak to the flesh it says:
Romans 7:20
Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.
But we no longer desire to sin! We want to live for the Lord! And he gives us that strength and ability to overcome temptations and desires for wordly things....because we are now living in Him, His Holy Spirit now dwells within us.
We cannot take His grace for granted-- one who does that does not understand his grace!
Just because we are saved does not mean we can live in sin or do whatever we want--
Romans 8:9
You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

Boy, I see Romans 7 all over this question. In fact, the question was asked in Romans 6:

Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

In addition also to what we know from the written Word of God, we need to learn to hear his voice as well.

Originally I was taught that The Lord’s voice was our first thought. The logic was that God is faster than the devil. This logic, however, excluded the existence of the flesh. I believe that this teaching was erroneous, and hindered my walk with the Lord. It was also very confusing. Sometimes my first thought was, “Kill them all!”

In I Kings 19:11-12 The Lord’s voice was not the first voice, but the fourth. The first thing that we need to remember is that the flesh screams anger and revenge and selfishness. The voice of the Lord will be merciful and giving and gentle. We need to tune into that voice.

In my own testimony, I can truly say that the person that I used to be before I came to KNOW Jesus Christ as my LORD & Savior, "died" (literally) and the person that I am now IS Christ alive in me. To me to commit willful sin would be like crucifying Christ again. Every willful sin we commit, as a "Christian" is the very REASON that Christ died upon that cross so long ago, One should ask themselves, is that moment of sinful pleasure, worth the cost? Can you not see the beloved face of the Savior as He looks down from that harsh rugged cross with love shining in His eyes, so that you could commit the very thing that put Him there in the first place? (NO! not for me, or any other true & faithful Christian that I know) Thus it gives reason to the "logic" ONCE SAVED always SAVED, however to KNOW IF your saved...you must first KNOW if Jesus is the LORD of your life. Does He TRULY dwell in you? If you had to lay down your life for your belief, would you? If you never had one happy moment from the time you accepted Christ as Savior, would you continue to follow Him regardless of the things that happen in THIS life? Bearing the Cross of Christ is NOT easy, nor did Jesus ever tell us it would be, matter of fact he said in THIS world we WILL have tribulation, (though we can take heart as He HAS overcome this world! ) This world is NOT our home, we are but pilgrims passing through! That is why so FEW find the "Way" because they will not continue to follow unless they are "rewarded" for their effort. Sometimes our reward will NOT be on this Earth, but ONLY in Heaven alone. Do we have the faith to follow, no matter what?
That truly is the question, you should ask yourself.

Yes, total subjection to the will of God?

Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Rom 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Rom 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

I know that if I don't trust & obey Jesus, I suffer. But, then I also know that Jesus shed blood covers me & I am made the righteousness of Christ, & nothing I do or don't do will change that. There are plenty of scripture in the bible that tells me this. God looks at me & sees the righteousness of Christ.

We died to our old man & the corruption. We die daily. That is what the dunking in water baptism represents. The old man dies. When we are born again, we need to renew our mind in the Word of God. Gods Truth does set us free from wrong thinking that leads us to sin. We die to the flesh lust & choose to follow after the Spirit.

We are not under law, but under grace. Meaning that we can do things that are against religious rules, but if it is against Gods Word & personal direction in our life, then we will suffer a discipline. When we sin, we are to confess our sin & He (Jesus) if faithful & just to forgive us our sin & cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And the Holy Spirit does this by bring the Word of God to mind that makes us right & washes us in His Word. This can be easy or difficult, depending on how much we want to hang on to the wrong thinking that is the root of the problem.

It seems that Galatians 2:20 is similar to the Muslims' subjection to God. According to the faith of Islam, true Muslims are completely subjected to God while Christians are subjected to Christ.
Now if you would remove 'Christ' in Galatians 2:20 and replace it with 'God', Muslims and Christians would be living according the will of God.

CAN WE CONTINUE IN OUR SINS, SINCE WE ARE FORGIVEN ANY WAY?
NO! NO! NO!

Accepting Jesus does not mean that we can then go out and sin. It means we have turned from sin and we are new creatures who desire to bring glory to God and not use the grace of God to sin.

NO! .... Don't you dare add permission to sin to His Holy Bible! Sin is NOT permitted by God.

Rev 22: 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
(Rev 22: 18-19)

In the garden, the enemy said "Did God really say you can't do thatt", tricking personkind into sin by disobeying God's command. The un-believers, even this hour, are trying to take away what God said!

The Bible says, "What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace might increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?" (Rom. 6:1-2).

Unfortunately, there are those who accuse the Christians of having a license to sin.

To this, the Bible says, "And why not say (as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say), “Let us do evil that good may come”? Their condemnation is just," (Rom. 3:8).

Notice that the apostle Paul says that those who accuse the Christians of doing evil are being slanderous.

On the contrary, salvation is an appeal to God for cleansing from sin, forgiveness, and repentance so that we might not sin.

CAN WE CONTINUE TO BE FREE FROM SIN? YES!!!

James 4: 7 "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
James 4: 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded."

We still have free will do do as we please, but IF we wish to remain in His good graces, we must remain obedient to the scope of His will. The Apostle Paul was once quoted as saying that we are all "apt" or liable to sin. Since "all" includes everyone and excludes no one, it means that no matter how long we serve God, Satan won't give up trying to draw us back into our former lives. Jesus once told Peter, "Simon, Simon, the devil DESIRETH TO HAVE YOU that he may sift you as wheat (pick you apart and try to figure out how to draw you back into sin)." As long as we remain subjected to God's will, He will build a hedge of protection around us physically and spiritually as you can read about in the book of Job. I know it sounds like a bit of a double standard, being able to do what we want, yet having to remain subjected to His will. But, he gave us certain things in life for our enjoyment, needs, and desires. It's up to us through study, prayer and obedience to find out exactly what those things are for us!

While I don't claim to speak for God (I'm an agnostic anyway) I don't think most Christians are really in total subjection to the will of God. Jesus instructed his followers to turn the other cheek, and yet far too many Christians don't hesitate to go to war. Why? If you die in God's name, you'd go to heaven. Why would you need to kill, or send others to kill? How about the whole don't judge or you will be judged thing? Too many Christians I've met are as judgmental as anyone else, if not more so.

By the way, this is NOT me saying that our soldiers are bad, or that one should never defend one's self. I'm just saying that Jesus said these things. I didn't make it up. Its in the bible. I read it there myself. Go look it up. No, really, it is there.
