Funnily enough the true, correct version. The American versions of everything are too painful to watch...Saving Private Ryan, about Omaha beach a huge human tragedy, yet the landing was painful to watch. Also, read books about WW2 by Americans, many of them place themselves as winning the war...far too nationalist throughout history..Therefore, the correct and factual history is much more interesting and better than the american tripe.

Actually, I would be most interested in drwing my own conclusions. e.g. Battle of the Bulge: I would be interested in comparing an account of the battle from a member of the 101st Airborne Division with an account from a member 150th Panzer Brigade.
There are at least 3 versions to every story: my version your version and what really happened (the more people involved, the more versions there will be).

i'm very interested in who decides what is 'real' of a story of the past.
I mean what source do you trust to have the real version?
since every human has a unique perspective in telling the story.
i'm thinking there is no 'real' version.
there is only reality of each person's experience.
i have also noticed that even within americans they have zillions of different versions of the stories. so even americans don't have a version they agree on a lot of the time.

What do you mean by the "real version". Do you know that only Americans see history through a filter? Wake up!

Two Cheers for Howard Zinn!
...The Real Version. I think all countries do a little "editing" of history though to make them look better, or because the past is painful. Germans hardly talk about Hitler and WWII. Although, the editing is a little "1984" if you ask me.

So the nation who lost the war tells the "real" story? When someone is beat in a fight the story always makes them look like a victim. Name one instance where the American story was different from reality, and the opponents story is 100% accurate.

And unless you have studied military history - what makes you think that you can tell which is the 'real' version?
Or do you assume that the 'real' version is the one that most closely matches what you want to hear?
