Can Christian be cremated our buried?
Job 19:25-26
"For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:"
Clearly Job understood that he would be buried, and that the worms of the earth (not fire) would destroy his body that it return it to the dust from which it came. And yet he intimately ties it to the resurrection, exactly as we see done all throughout scripture. That was/is the normal Godly way to deal with loved ones who die. Again, as attested to by the Biblical records of the purchase of land by Abraham (precisely for this purpose).
So what do you think?

Yes. Being a Christian has no bearing on how your remains are dealt with. Whether your hope is a heavenly one or an earthly one, God has the power to renew, or recreate your body as he sees fit. He has no need to use a cadaver or any other remnants of your physical body. Also, it should be noted that Job was looking toward a resurrection here on the earth. No faithful man or woman ascended into heaven before Jesus. In fact, based on the biblical record, going to heaven was not even a thought in the righteous men and women of old, but rather living forever here on earth. Only those who were baptized in water and anointed by holy spirit after Jesus Christ had ascended to present to his father the value of his ransom sacrifice had the hope of going to heaven, and even so, only a little flock, or a minority of Christians. In their case, since "flesh can not inherit the kingdom of God," God would have no need of a physical body, as he would give those with the heavenly hope new spirit bodies, like the one Jesus, the angels, and himself have. I hope this answers your questions. Feel free to email me if you want exact scriptural quotes for this information.

Yes. Early Christians opposed cremation because pagans often cremated their dead as a sign of disdain for the Christians’ belief in the physical resurrection of the body. To protect belief in this doctrine of faith, the Catholic Church forbade cremation. That prohibition was lifted in 1963. The Church still recommends that the faithful be buried, but Catholics may be cremated so long as cremation does not demonstrate a denial of belief in the resurrection of the body (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2301).

Yes, they can be cremated or buried. Job was talking about two different things - the body in the grave, and the spirit being resurrected.

Yes, a Christian can be cremated. However the ashes must be disposed of properly in a mausoleum or other burial facility. it is not allowed to be stored in your house.

In Jesus' day, criminals, found guilty, would be carried outside to the valley of Gehenna (Hinnom) where there was a constant fire going on ....it being a garbage dump.
Their bodies would be left to burn there.
Paul wrote in Acts that there would be a resurrection of the just and unjust.
So what do I think?
It doesn't matter miuch how one's body disintegrates.

Yes. Taking Scripture out of context to "prove" any one belief or practice is a dangerous way to do "theology". That's called "eisegesis" instead of proper "exegesis" and you - and all Christians - should refrain from doing so.
