I just got a boxer puppy about 12 to 14 weeks old and have realized that she is deaf.Greatest little thing would like to know how to help her.Is there any help out there for training deaf dogs or training the humans that care for them?

well, for communication, you'll have to do signs..

Just figure out which ones you want to use, and be consistent!!

Also to get her attentiton, stomp on the floor. They can feel the vibrations.. Works wonders with my friend's deaf 2 year old! She always turns aroudn to see what you want when you stomp on the floor..

The puppy should be able to have a long, healhty, surprisingly normal life, but you will want to take extra safety precautions, mainly never leaving her outside unsupervised.. Only allow her to run outside unleashed in a VERY safe environment.

She still needs more shots and altered which should be done ASAP. Talk to the vet about his contacts. It may be as simple as another customer with a deaf dog getting in contact with you just to help.

give him praise using thumbs-up signs and over-exaggerated facial expressions
