Please don't listen to the disrespectful people that have said bad things. They're only saying bad things about this religion, when it has never done anything to them. My dear friend, you are aloud to read the Quran. And you are aloud to be muslim no matter what you are. So please, read the Quran. You are more than welcome. I hope this helped you very much!

Extremist Muslims are people who oppose western worldwide places that desire to secularize Muslim worldwide places and have been killing muslims for the final ninety years because of the fact that ww2 ended and donig so. The Leaders in those worldwide places are puppet leaders of the West like the king in saudi, pakistan, egypt. Jus tlook at palestine they're wipiong out muslims that hve no self protection, no defense force or government. common muslims no such element, there are secular muslims that dont practice, then their are actual muslims that oppose tyranny, every physique that kills an harmless is a criminal no longer extremist

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim - In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hello. You are not only allowed, but you are encouraged to read the Qur'an and learn about Islam. Islam is a religion for all humankind, not for a particular region or ethnic group. It's a common misunderstanding that all Arabs are Muslim and most Muslims are Arab. The truth is, about 18% of Muslims are Arab. There are many more Indian / Asian Muslims in the world.
I am an American Muslim woman. I accepted Islam about 14 years ago. I'm a typical white person of English, German, and Native American ancestry. I was able to learn about Islam by reading books in English and by reading a translation of the Qur'an.
I would be most happy to send you some tapes and literature about Islam, so please PM me and I can mail some information out to you. Meanwhile, the link below is a superior resource for learning about Islam. You can spend months visiting this site and not exhaust all its resources. I would warn you against some sites which on their face are Muslim but really are filled with deviant information.
I pray that Allah guides you to that which is best in this world and the next. Ameen.
fi Aman Allah,
Nancy Umm Abdel Hamid

First, you should recognize what are you questioning. Are you questioning your faith, or is it the action of those who claim to be Christians are making you question your faith! You should separate the two, and understand that there are good and bad people in all religion and don't pin it on the faith, when people are to blame not your faith.
Yes, you can read the Quran. What better way to understand what others are all about, but by knowing what they believe in.
Muslims come in all colors, from many nations. They are not all Arabs, or white.
Don't lose your faith, but use it to be a better person to all human kind, and that includes the Muslims as well.
I have read the Quran, studied Islam, and even fasted Ramadan. To know a person, one must walk in their shoes for at least moments. I respect them, and I am not a Muslims.
May God Bless you and Yours.
Edit:
Guys, what is the thumbs down for! I believe everyone has the right to learn and understand others. What is wrong with that! is it because I am a Christian even after I studied Islam.
Live and let live. as I believe you have the right to believe as you which so should you.
Very well. If you don't know what I am about to post, now you do.
Muslims would love that you want to know their religion, and even more if you want to become a Muslims. But there is a double standard when it comes to learning other religion. They want you to go to them, but don't want anyone of them to leave. and those who wish to learn other faiths or dare to want to leave will not be happy or live long to tell about it.
A young palestinian man few years ago converted to Christianity from Islam. Some men took the law into their hands, and chopped him into seven pieces and droped him at the front door of his family with a cross carved on his forehead. True story. Believe it or not.
I know Muslims going to say I am lying, but I am not. That is the truth the whole truth or so help me God.
The bottom the line is. We may be living together, but when we die, we die alone. That is from the wisdom of Dalay Lama.

YES you are allowed to read the Quran, how else would you learn.
YES everyone is welcome in Islam, not just Arabs. The largest Muslim population is in Indonesia. There are more Muslims in China than Saudi Arabia.
Here is my story:
Growing up I could not understand some things that I was being taught in Sunday school.
My Mother is a Christian and my Dad is an Atheist. My mother would just tell me the same thing that the Sunday school teacher was saying. My Dad would tell me that I needed to find my own answers and told my Mom that if she was not going to help me by giving me an answer that I could understand instead of telling me the same thing without her to questioning the answer then I was not to go back to Sunday school. He told me that I needed to do my own research and find the truth on my own. This was when I was 10.
At this time I would spend my summers with my grandparents. My Grand father was a Deacon and my Grand Mother was a Sunday school teacher. They would try to guide me but when I would question they too could not give me the answers.
Then when I was 16 I was in a world religion class in high school. There I began to learn about Islam and I could finally have my answers. I was so excited when I went home. But my mother was totally against it. And I was told that none of the garbage was to come into her home. At this time Dad was out of town and did not hear what she was telling me. So I would study in secret.
Less than a year after I graduated from high school I was told that I was to get married or get out of my parents home (by my Mother). I married and my husband was anti anything that was not Christian. So again I studied in secret.
After 5 years of an abusive relationship (with him cheating, hitting and being mentally abusive) I got out. I started college and began to openly study Islam. My Mother tried to set me down and tell me how wrong I am but my Dad has been there beside me still telling me that I needed to find my own way.
My Mother tells my Dad she does not know where her daughter went, telling him that we use to be so close. But in reality we have never been close.
When I married my husband she told me that he would not be welcome in her home and did not even come to the wedding, although my Dad did. Finally when I stood up to her and told her that if my entire family was not welcome in her home then none of us would come over any more (including my children from my first marriage) after a month my Dad called and said that she would allow for all of us to come over. I was not asking for them to love my husband (although my Dad already did) but to respect him as a person. It has been 2 years now and things are much better.
But she still does not respect my choosing Islam. Going so far as to telling my oldest son if he became a Muslim he did not love her any more. He came home to me in tears and I again had to put my foot down and tell her that if she spoke of religion with him again he would not be back. She has kept her word so far and my Dad keeps her in check.
I reverted 3 years ago and have never been happier. I learn something new everyday. I am now married to a wonderful Muslim man that treats me with love and respect. I have some of the same friends that I had before I reverted and found new friends Muslim. There are not many reverts in my area so we all get together at least 2 times a month. My husband jokes and tells me that we have the Ya Ya Muslim Sisterhood
But I think that each person should take their own journey, even if they believe that their belief is the right one. In the least they will be able to see the world through some else's eyes

Everybody is allowed to read the quran. If you want to read the book just clean yourself according to Wudu Rules because even we the muslims we have to do that before we touch the Quran and before we pray, you can find info about it here:
http://islam.afghanteens.net/namaz/wudu/
If you don't want to do that, you can read the quran online, you can use this website:
http://www.harunyahya.com/Quran_translation/Quran_translation_index.php
As for converting to Islam anybody can convert whatever their religion is as long as it is their will and Imam will not accept your shahada unless you are really satisfied with converting (I know you are not thinking about it, I am just talking in general)
The Quran says :
[Quran 2:256] "There shall be no compulsion in religion...".
anybody who says otherwise is not a true muslim
Peace

They LOVE female Christian converts.
I am a former Protestant that studied Islam for two years from Muslims. While there are some things in Islam that I actually do admire, in the end I could not deny the divinity of Jesus, or accept the Muhammad was a true Prophet. Think about it, assuming that Jesus was "just" a Prophet like they claim, why would God send Jesus who is a perfect example of Peace, Love and Forgiveness, and then 600 years later send another Prophet that waged wars, had many wives, and abolished the New Testament?
I could not buy it, Why would God take us back to the old Testament?
So, I suggest that you study not only from anti-Muslim sites and not only from pro Muslim sites, but search for the truth about the faith and make up your mind from there. That is what I did and ended up finding the truth in Christianiaty, and became Catholic. It really makes so much sence.
Good Luck and may God Bless your search!

The people who follow the faith are outstanding people. In my area we have hundreds of thousands of Muslims and it is wonderful to live among them. (They have no loud rap music, No car jackings, No drug sells , They wear nice clothes, their children go for higher education,) They keep their neighborhoods up. Being Muslim will make one a better person.
