I mean in just our beliefs, not about how we respond to society or whatever. If I say I hear the voice of God you think I'm delusional. What about if a Pagan hears the voice of another god?

I don't , but I could worship the sun, moon, water and earth. Why not? I can both see them and touch some.
It makes more sense to me.
I have never heared of a war in the name of atheism , and never of a war in the name of mother earth.....
Maybe there should be.... then again........ It might involve a massive class action with, rich churches V's non politically alligned Pagans. Pagans that have nothing bad to say , taking the money from otherwise god fearing peoples ( why would you want to fear God?) and put it in the coffers of someone that might make a difference

The only reason there are proclaimed atheists is because they have to defend the voice of reason against delusional fanatics that swarm our politics and threaten our basic human rights, seeking to make the world a theocracy based on their religion. These fanatics are usually nine times out of ten of an Abrahamic religion such as Christianity. That's the only reason you don't hear us talking about Pagans, etc. Atheists wouldn't really care about Christianity if they just kept it to themselves.

I don't feel threatened by the Pagans. I don't get threats of violence from the Pagans for not believing. I don't get interrogated in bars by Pagans.

Christians, on the other hand do all of these things and more.

Do I find one religion's beliefs any more or less rational than another?- no...

But I have a hell of a lot more respect for a hell of a lot more Pagans than I do Christians. I'm not picking one religion over another, but I certainly know far more respectable Pagans than Christians in this area.

ANYONE who believes in god(s) is delusional. Pagans are actually worse to me, as they believe in multiple gods and tree spirits and moon worship and all kinds of other nonsense.

How you "respond to society", whatever that means, is irrelevant.

I simply don't care about Pagans or Hindus or any other religions which are not attempting to destroy my way of life. Mostly those are Christians, Jews ans Muslims, whose constant bickering and warmongering is endangering the entire planet.

Atheist.

I'm a pagan AND an atheist.

I hold that spirituality must have some practical application to life or it is useless. It needs to help us cope with life, and help us focus on what makes life great.

I fully accept that my spiritual views may just be delusions in my head; but I don't care, I feel what I feel and believe what I believe. I enjoy celebrating life and I get a lot of mileage out a few blips of abstract thought.

I don't generally think that people are "delusional" unless they have some serious mental defect. If you say that you hear the voice of your god I would probably either think that you were lying for some reason or that you were engaging in wishful thinking (i.e., your "inner voice" or conscience "told" you something and you attributed it to YHWH). I would assume the same of any person who claimed invisible beings spoke to them, unless I had reason to believe they had authentic hallucinations.

t. Jefferson said religion is between me and god he didn't say witch god. I'm not religious but i belive in the 10 commanments i think most atheists know or realize alot of the history of religion or the fact that there are over 2,000,000 documented religions ( how do u know somebody picked the right one) i dont mind what religion somebody picks as long as they dont try to force it on me but i understand people hav different reasons for using religion in their lives but i never thought they were delusional

I think anybody who believes in that which is blatantly unbelievable is pretty gullible...

Having said that...I've never been told by a Pagan "believe the way I do or you'll suffer when you die."

Pagans haven't attempted to infiltrate government to have their belief system turned into law. They've not attempted to have any of their Gods names imprinted on my currency, nor have they attempted to have any of their gods included in my national pledge.

Overall, I have no problems with Pagans....

i think that they are just the same. pagans and christians do believe in something.. they have faith on some entity, but i guess most atheists are really against christianity that's why they don't think that paganism isn't at all a threat. christianity is always the target of their criticisms.

I believe that we all use our experiences to answer questions differently. Sometimes this leads to delusion.

Any belief in something that is has no basis for measurement is probably delusional, but that doesn't mean it isn't beneficial.

Think about how many times you have heard people claim that without God they would loose their morals, and their ability to control themselves. In that light, their religious delusion is helpful to the rest of us.
