When they realise it is a threat?

Hint: They don't consider it such.
It is more akin to them trying to push you out of the way of an oncoming truck in the middle of the road.... when you can quite clearly see you're in the middle of a shopping center and there are no trucks (nor the possibility of trucks) anywhere near.
Of course you're going to be annoyed by it.... but if they're away with the fairies... convinced they're in some sort of action film because they can't cope with the sterility of mundane life.... then there isn't much you can do to convince them otherwise.

OK that's fine why are you bothered by them threating you with a place that doesn't exist to you. That's their own fault. Actually heaven and hell can be philosophical. God can imply the forces of nature, science, and physics. Ritual exists outside of religion and traditions as well. Religion fills these voids by standardizing them. Religion is not science. Religion is spiritual. Spirit can imply union of body and mind... you get my drift. People need a system to live by other wise they're living hell or tormented by the fact that they don't believe in anything. Don't let foolish people bother you. Hell even in the ancient beliefs was actually temporary anyways and salvation was to all due to God's mercy therefore no one stays there permanently anyways. The church made it permanent so people wouldn't just be bad their whole lives.

If threatening atheists is a waste of time, why do so many atheists complain that a lot of people only convert to Christianity because of the threat of hell?

I agree with you that nobody is going to feel threatened by hell unless they've already bought into the Christian worldview. So I don't think anybody converts because of the threat of hell.

Well, I guess I should qualify that. I do believe it's possible to believe that Christianity is true while not embracing Jesus as Christ. So to be more precise, I should say that I don't think anybody ever comes to believe that Christianity is true because of the threat of hell. However, I suppose some people do embrace Jesus as the Lord because of the threat of hell provided they've already bought into the belief.

What you don't understand, dear one, is that by sticking your head in the sand and refusing to admit hell exists, you are CHOOSING hell as your eternal destination.

Christians don't "threaten" you, we are merely trying to warn you.

Look at it this way: If you were standing near someone on the curb and he stepped out into the path of an oncoming bus, wouldn't you try to grab his arm and pull him back to the safety of the curb? MOST people would!

That's what Christians are trying to do for YOU.

God bless!

I am a Christian and I don't feel the need to threaten anyone with hell. We each have been given free will and it your choice as to how you want to live your life. The reason that we share our beliefs with others is because we are compelled to do so. When I share my faith (which I only do when invited to do so or if it is brought up in conversation) I feel the same as I would if I had the cure for cancer and knew you had cancer. There is no way you would want me to keep that to myself, you would want me to share the cure with you so that you could be healed. It is the same with our faith. We believe that we have the cure for an eternity of being separated from God. If you choose not to believe in God, that is up to you, but if you ask me what I believe, I am going to share it, it would be a sin not to.

You are using a psychological ploy known as "transference." The Christian warns you of what God says, but you transfer the warning that comes from God and apply it to Christians in order to psychologically accommodate your rejection of the warning.

If it comes from people, it is easily dismissed. If it comes from God, it is not so easily dismissed.

Then you just conclude, without proof, God does not exist, and your problem is solved.

And you will have all of eternity to mull over your decision you make now.

When both groups stop being so upset that the other exists. I could care less if you don't believe in God and I do, and will never understand the combatative nature of either toward the other. The whole thing is stupidity on both sides.

threats of hell is irrelevant what is rel event is where your spending eternity.

You knew a person and you had information that something real bad was going to happen to them wouldn't you do all you could to tell that person?

Its not about threats and that's the farthest thing from a Christians mind is to threaten someone with hell.

its about trying to warn that person

Yeah. It's not a tact that I take.

I would try the positives. The negative come up a lot when that's all Atheists want to talk about.

too plenty to examine. I caught the final sentence even with the undeniable fact that. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Even God got here down and pronounced at his baptism "this is my son in whom i'm nicely extremely joyful". Jesus prayed to him interior the backyard till now he became into arrested. Jesus prayed to him on the pass. there are various places interior the bible that state this actuality. persons are ignorant, closed minded, close off their hearts and that they are sour. human beings do no longer forgive, they argue. Even Christians argue. in uncomplicated terms committed and organic in heart see God. which potential, no longer many see God. which potential even many Christians will never see God. unhappy yet actual.

Question for the atheists: regardless of if you believe in hell, isn't it something you'd like to avoid IF it were real? And IF Heaven were real, wouldn't you like to go there?
