But that would keep me from asking an interesting question and deprive someone of 10pts., Steve.

Just be sure you know the doggie Heimlich for when you find out that what's choking the Doberman is a finger he bit off, Raji.

Just an urban legend, check out Snopes.com. You will see that the 'backwards PIN' is not a reality...though it would be a nice feature. I think this was oriented to keep people from attacking those alone withdrawing money.

While such a security measure would be nice, it is, at this stage, and urban legend.

The one thing which does happen, at least at my bank, is that entering your PIN incorrectly three times in a row freezes things, and makes it impossible to get funds for a certain amount of time. I am not positive just what that amount of time is, as I have, at worst, only ever entered my PIN incorrectly once during a transaction.

My bank also has, in the past, had an absolute limit to the amount of money you are allowed to withdraw during a 24-hour period. It used to be $300, but they have raised it, or maybe done away with it, as I have recently taken as much as $500 at one time.

Luckily for me, I don't look like the type who has more than about $75 in the bank at any one time. I am hoping that that, and my kind, loving attitude and gentle dropping of F-bombs on complete strangers who frighten me will help me keep from being victimized in that particular manner.

It's an urban legend, BUt having a vicious Doberman that willl attack with a code word such as "Butt" is nice and handy. Just ask the guy holding the gun it he wants a BUTT and watch the fun happen. LOL

No there is not.
There was a guy who proposed it and tried to get a law passed, in the US, but the ATM providers said it would not work.
The proposal was that you put in your password backwards. If you think about it for more than a few seconds anyone can see it would not work.
Using a special code would not work because the bad guys would know the code also, it would need to be in the general public to be used.
Just being aware of your surroundings helps prevent being a victim no matter what you are doing.

no it that became into actual then the police could have come to the ATM i became into at approximately as quickly as a week with the aid of fact i forgot the pin to a card on my account in somebody else call, i knew the numbers yet could ignore the order and positioned it in backwards some circumstances, the final factor to do while you're transforming into robbed is to bypass away type the digital camera so it may see the guy any weapons and all of the autos around

urban legend

how do you type in 2332 backwards? Besides, in the time it takes someone to be robbed at an ATM could be as little as seconds, and certainly no longer than 3 minutes. That challenges even the fastest police department to get there in time to do any good.
