It would depend on your personal view of the symbol and the emotion you feel in the dream when the symbol is seen... Most people see 'snakes' as evil and deceptive. Your description suggests a negative reaction - the color could add to your interpretation, e.g., Red may suggest anger or lust. You describe saving others from approaching snakes. Are you feeling that people in your life need to be made aware of deception or evil that they may be in danger of falling victim to? --continued-- Just to add a POSITIVE note on snakes: Though the "snake in the grass" gets more present-day airplay -- The ancient symbol of the SNAKE(s) coiling around the staff or rod is thought by some to symbolize DNA ; or possibly to illustrate the flow of kundalini energy or the life force about the spine. Whichever the case may be, these snakes have stood lighting the doorway of the 'HEALER' for centuries past. They are used across all the fields of medicine as a symbol of life and health. Perhaps you could visualize that scary snake in your dreams transforming into a rejuvenating life-giving force glowing and flowing thru you HEALing THY SELF so that you then might have more to give to those around you ... Breathe in - Breathe Out. Love your puppy - LOve your brother . OR, something like that. LOL

Just my opinion:

Snakes are often considered as very bad, but I prefer to see them as a symbol of transformation. I don't think our unconscious minds have the same animal prejudices that our conscious minds do!

Snakes can be amphibious- traveling from land (the consciousness)-- to water-- (the unconscious). So here you have many messengers- snakes meandering all about. You are dodging them- you are letting your imagination do it's work. Your husband is helping you- he is a good male ally.

The snake is also a symbol of personal transformation- as she sheds her old skin- she leaves it behind and glistens with the promise of new opportunities.

Why do you have so much imagination and so many opportunities? Is it a very fruitful time in your inner life; or are you very confused by too many possibilities?

One snake takes a nip from you--- is this the idea that has caught your imagination/

Write down all the stuff that you've been wondering about lately and see if one idea seems to rise to the top as worthy of following up on.

It sounds as if there are areas of your life that you feel pose a threat to you and your well-being. A dark place signifies that you may be feeling alone, confused, or don't know what to do, you can't find your way easily. You are seeking a way out of the problems, but feel the answer is just beyond your reach. You feel the fears you have will eventually come to pass, it is only a matter of time, or inevitable.

Its a strange world so don't diminish the validity of any answers to your question.

Snakes represent deceit, deception, and lies. Your dream is telling you, you are surrounded by deception and lies and your husband is trying to help you. To be bit by a snake represents that you have fallen under the influence of a lie or deception.

It means that there is something in your life which is troubling you, and your husband represents a safe haven but in reality you feel dis-connected to him. You have been sleeping apart from eachother, in a physical sense or an emotional sense, and the enemy has invaded your hearts, and is trying to pry you apart.
