Does this sound like another BS study to protect interest of big oil. The epa did the same thing with European "zero emmission" car saying they have to bad of polutions to be allowed in the US...even the electric ones.
The EPA seems to be a very corrupt organization.

I think it's a scam. We have plenty of water on this earth. As a matter of fact, we are getting more water because the ice in the North and South pole are melting from Global Warming. Not only that, the more we plant, the more oxygen we will get. It's better for the environment. I think the EPA is trying to keep gas prices high too. They are so corrupt...

I don't think its a scam ,What is ethanol well its alcohol that you cant drink because its impure because of the way they distill it . It would be poison for a human or animal to drink . Take a glass of water and mix it with alcohol it mixes vary well . The water plants can not filter it out the only way to get it out would be to distill it again . Sure it would be small amounts but the longer you use it the more gets into the water supply . Soon you would be drinking a clear sparkling glass of ethanol or poison . Do you really think we need more poisons in our water then what we have ?

We really don't need to rush into things and end up worse off then what we are. That's what our forefathers did that's why we are in such a mess . We need to heath the warnings unlike our ancestors or we will all be doomed.

In Iowa the major ethanol crop is corn. What crop has this state always been known for? -----Corn
Ethanol crops and all other crops can threaten the water supply when the chemical fertilizers and weed controlers runoff into water supplies.
So yes, ethanol crops could threaten the water supply. So could a field of watermelons, or cows in a pasture.

it is a real threat,
but not in the way some of the above answers think it is not contamination but rather quantities needed

to grow one ton of corn requires 1000 tons of water.
mono cultures for trees or corn uses fertilizers to supplement the growth and so uses more than twice the water needed to irrigate these kind of crops ,so people are over pumping carbon aquifers to accommodate this production ,
already farming uses 70% of all water supplies ,with ethanol production much more is used,

No, ethanol is not the answer to our problems. It will cause an increase in price of corn and everything that eats corn, plus all the other crops that the farmers aren't growing anymore because they can make more money growing corn for ethanol. Ethanol burns hotter in your cars engine causing more problems, meaning your car will be in the shop more often, costing you more money.

Ethanol is a waste of time, money and resources. It creates more problems than it addresses.

You only call them names because you don't like what they say and not because you have all the facts and can prove they are wrong.

Potentially, it could. That corn doesn't grow off nothing.
