I'm looking for a word that sounds like constest.. constence... It has to deal with railroad and boxcar... like their trail of cars going down the rails. Spelling please... Thanks

Would be a "Consist", as in the train "consists of"...
I couldn't find the derivation / etymology of this in the R.R. sense though.

consist, (CON-sist)
either the engine consist which on our documentation usually shows engine number, horsepower and direction
train consist usually shows loads, empties, tons and total length
