Here is truth about global warming:
Global warming is one-half of the climatic cycle of warming and cooling.
The earth's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water.
This is a completely natural phenomenon which has been going on since there has been water on this planet. It is driven by the sun.
Our planet is currently emerging from a 'mini ice age', so is
becoming warmer and may return to the point at which Greenland is again usable as farmland (as it has been in recorded history).
As the polar ice caps decrease, the amount of fresh water mixing with oceanic water will slow and perhaps stop the thermohaline cycle (the oceanic heat 'conveyor' which, among other things, keeps the U.S. east coast warm).
When this cycle slows/stops, the planet will cool again and begin to enter another ice age.
It's been happening for millions of years.
The worrisome and brutal predictions of drastic climate effects are based on computer models, NOT CLIMATE HISTORY.
As you probably know, computer models are not the most reliable of sources, especially when used to 'predict' chaotic systems such as weather.
Global warming/cooling, AKA 'climate change':
Humans did not cause it.
Humans cannot stop it.

A. You can do nothing about global warming, the Earth is going through a NATURAL warming cycle and nothing any human can do can prevent it.
B. Nobody knows what the effects may be. The oceans levels have not risen. Some scientist believe it may actually be a boon to the world because the growing season will be lengthened therefore we will be able to feed more people.
Don't get caught up in what the wackos are trying to tell you. Watch your local news at night, how often is the Weather Man wrong about what the weather will be next week? Now how close do you think they really are when trying to predict what is going to happen 20, 30, or 50 years in the future. They have not built a computer powerfully enough to include all the different variables that influence the climate. What they are doing is making a guess using their hand picked data that they wished to include in their "model."

First thing is either buy a hybrid car, or a total electric car. The second thing is to stop buying arisial sprays, the third is do not support (as in buy products) from any company that is not earth friendly. The biggest problem with global warming is us, if the majority of people brought hybrid cars, then the auto makers would get the message, and you would see some great hy-performance cars come from it. I suggest you do some research and see what is what on everything. Also be political, call your district official, your senator, your mayor and governor, to let them know your concerns if enough people did this you would see a quick change as well.

Carpool to work, cahnge all the light bulbs in you house over to Flouresant bulbs, Make sure to turn off unused lights and appliances.
Try to buy products made with recycled materials.
Consider build a new home with modern green techniques, to improve on heating and cooling and the use of solar power or wind.
Don't buy or use product in aersol cans that contain CFC'c ( Cloroflorcarbons).
This is the biggest thing that a single individual can do to help in the reduction of global warming. ( that is if it's not really a natural effect)
I too have done allot of this thing and it has saved me money already. You can also get a rebate from the power company for changing all the lights in you house, if you contact them they will send you out a form to get a rebate on the bulbs you purchased.
Best of Luck and keep up the good work!

Global warming cannot be stopped. Global warming is not man made, it is a natural cycle that the earth goes through caused by the sun. Other planets in our solar system are warming as well.

you can get involved in such things as the Union of Concerned Scientists and put "carbon footprints" into your search engine and you will find a way to determine your affect on global warming and how to do your part to fight the problem. you can also find groups that are concerned with this - I included a link to what may be the most active one, but the fact that you are concerned and take the matter seriously alone is a sign that you are going in the right direction. Just keep that going!!
and thank you on behalf of the planet!!

Remember that the root cause of global warming is human activity and in particular their incessant breeding..
It's overpopulation that's the real problem so as an individual the biggest impact you can have is to avoid becoming a parent.
Thinking about it, your bank balance will be healthier as well.

Theres only so much you can do; you can volunteer at a help the Earth center, Save the Earth center or do small things like changing your eating habits, so that when your waste gets flushed, it wont be as harmful to the ocean life.
Buy more biodegradable products, Change cars to a non Eco friendly one, us let electricity, less gas for your home or no gas and just go solar. Wear clothing that is more biodegradable.
You can do what you can but its going to take all of us.

You can make small changes to your lifestyle to help.
Perhaps cycling instead of driving small distances.
Turn off taps when you brush your teeth. Turn off lights when you're not in the room.
Turn down your heating (if you use it) by 1 degree.
Try not to buy products from the shops that are "over packaged" - I mean, when you buy bananas for example just buy loose bananas instead of ones that are covered in plastic. They taste the same and you'll encourage the manufacturers not to waste resources (and energy) on wrapping stuff up unnecessarily.

1) Walk to any destination that is no more than 2 miles away instead of using the car, 2) When you shop complain to the manager about to many rappers being used, to much packaging is to much waste, now that's a start.
