lmao that is hilarious. Rusty Wallace and the ESPN crew are a bunch of jokers who think stupid graphics like that impress the fans, when in reality it makes them look stupid. WHAT THE HELL IS DRAFT LOCK? they make stuff up as they go along...coming in martinsville Bumper Lock when the bump and run is applied.

Ever since ESPN announced the "Draft Track" system, I've been waiting for the Dega COT race to see it. Remember toward the beginning of the season when Fox showed the wind tunnel test of the current car and the COT? The airflow over the current car was streamlined and clean. The airflow over the COT was turbulent under the splitter. I was hoping "Draft Track" would be able to show all of the disturbances, but it didn't. It was amazing to me how the COT's draft looked exactly the same as the current car's. It seems to me like someone played the video game and thought, "hmm, that draft indicator is pretty cool, I bet we could use that in the TV broadcast. It would be especially cool at Bristol and Martinsville where the draft is completely useless."

ESPN and ABC are still trying to play up their broadcasts to the new viewer, and the less than average viewer. These "extras" in the broadcast like the draft lock, and the cut-away car do nothing but irritate the typical NASCAR viewer. It is an insult to those who already know what is going on, but informative to the two or three people watching who haven't got a clue what NASCAR is all about. I think it is high time that the networks sit up and pay attention to who actually tunes in for these races.
WAKE UP, WE ARE RACE FANS, NOT IDIOTS!
GET A CLUE, AND START DOING SOME REAL BROADCASTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't e-mail Wallace, he is just doing what the suits ,who think they know what people want, are telling him to do. Send 'em to the networks.
Stevo.

draft tracks..drives me crazy lol. I counted at dega, they used it 6 freakin times. And i like how when they use it..they act proud of themselves or something. They ony thing that i hate worse is when they go down to the tech center, or whatever yo want to call it. This guy is down there showing us how a valve breaks off, while cars are going 195+ INCHES FROM EACH OTHER! god! lets watch the RACE espn.

...Those white flames are visions. It comes from not sitting behind the wheel in a long time. It's the same as being in a desert and not having water for a long time. You start to see things.
...I think the term refers to the fact that the car punches a bigger hole in the air with the design of the front spoiler that it opens a larger hole allowing the car behind it to stick with the lead car easier.
...What it does in reality is make the cars more dependant on the draft (especially the lead car).
...Also it seemed to me that it helped cut out the technique of playing both sides of the draft. Before you could hold both sides back if you played the front right but not it seems to eliminate that (which is what I think hurt Tony Stewart).

It's a joke. I tried to get white flames on the freeway yesterday by tail gating a semi doing 80 mph. Didn't happen.
