How often have you really had some one try to convert you?

I think most Non-Christian's blow this way out of proportion.

When some one tries just say no thank you I am not interested just like any other salesman.

The main reason they can't just do this is because one of the tennents of their doctrine is that they go out and talk to and convert everyone to their religion. That IS christianity. Thats why.

God loves everyone and doesn't want anyone to go to hell. God calls on some people to speak his word to all those who will listen. I believe that everyone should at least here about God before they denie him, and if they denie him than that is their choice, but that doesn't mean that the people that care about them have to give up. I would say prey for the unbeliever but don't harass them if they don't want to listen.

ha ha that's a good question but at the same time.. Christians believe that they were sent here to help everyone get to heaven so.. Ya kinda have to deal wit it I guess.

Christians are told to share the Gospel with a person ONCE, and attempt to answer any questions they might have. If the person refuses to accept it, we're supposed to leave them alone.

If ONE Christian is trying repeatedly to convert you, they're in the wrong. If MANY Christians are trying ONCE to convert you...well, you might want to consider that a sign.

It sounds to me as if you DO have a problem.
I am a Christian and have never tried to convert anyone. You must be referring to Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormons, as theya re the only ones who go door to door. Usually, they do it on Saturday mornings.

It is NOT a tenet of Christianity that we convert anyone and everyone with whom we come into contact by preaching. Actions speak louder than words.
I try to be kind to others and treat them as I want to be treated.

I personally think it's rude and uncouth to use the expression "gtfo" or "stfu."
I'm not even sure what "gtfo" means, but I know it's impolite.

Your question then, is
"Why can't they just gtfo, stfu?" I assume you are referring to all of us who love God.

How rude! How prejudicial!

It doesn't speak well for you to be so insulting.

As a Catholic I know what you mean,it is so annoying to be backed into a corner by evangelicals and even more so when you are taken off guard,we Catholics perfer to wait until we are asked or approached by someone genuinely seeking for spiritual help.

I have the same problem. I find it real hard to blow off the arrogance they show when they diss my belief system, 25 yrs in the making, just because I don't follow their preacher's personal opinions about the bible and spirituality etc.

When will they learn that you can't scare or bully people into God's arms?

Because it's in their beliefs to convert anyone they can. That's why it can be hard for you.
