Because in His overflowing love, He wanted children to share it with. He made us to share in the abundance of His love -- not to worship or believe or any of that other corollary stuff.

Men is the last creation of God. Before the arrival of man every thing was as per the fix routine fixed by the nature.Every creature except man follows certain rule. But man has disturbed the whole ecology. everybody has to die who has borned. this is a simple rule. When god created earth and living thing he has no idea that how to distroy his best creature. After thinking a lot he created man with weakest body and destructive mind. Who is thinking to take place of God. so finally it is the conclusion that god has crated us to destroy the most beautiful creation.

I believe we were created by God to worship God. We were put on the Earth to live, love, and build a relationship with God.

GOD ALMIGHTYcreated us because he wanted to test us through an examination in the form of earthly life who is able to recognise his creator and do good deeds so that he could choose out who is worthy to live with him in heaven forever.in other words we can say that GOD created us to worship him by being obedient to his commandments.

may I share with you from the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
CCC 1 - God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength. He calls together all men, scattered and divided by sin, into the unity of his family, the Church. To accomplish this, when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son as Redeemer and Savior. In his Son and through him, he invites men to become, in the Holy Spirit, his adopted children and thus heirs of his blessed life.
CCC 2 - So that this call should resound throughout the world, Christ sent forth the apostles he had chosen, commissioning them to proclaim the gospel: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age." Strengthened by this mission, the apostles "went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that attended it."

God is a concept in the human mind. You can't be 'created' by a concept in your own mind, neither can all of humanity.

This is a conversation I had with my son a while back. It is an entry in my journal.
Miko: “Daddy, why did God create people?”
Me: “Because God doesn’t want to be alone.”
Miko: “Really?”
Me: “Yes…. Imagine yourself as a person who loves people so much. Do you want to be alone?”
Miko: “No.”
Me: “Now, close your eyes and imagine that ten-thousand times.”
