I still need to lose about 40 more pounds, but for the past 3 months I can't get the scale to budge. I eat right (whole grains, fruits, veggies, chicken, fish, etc.) and walk 2-4 miles per day. Any suggestions? Thanks!

you have hit the dreaded "Wall"
This is very common to most folks.

To get over this Wall. You need to change up your routine quite a bit. You are certainly on the right track after loosing that much weight. But change up the excerise routine completely and adjust your diet, by either the times you eat or instead of 3 meals divide it to 5 really small ones.
Once you bust this Wall. You will be back on track to the results you are looking for.
Good luck!

First - congrats! That is awesome!

Sounds like you've reached a plateau. Let me ask this - are you still medically overweight or is this just to get you to a number you think you should be? If you still really need to lose because you are still overweight, then try changing up your exercise routine. Try some workout tapes, strength training, or more intense cardio.

Don't aim for a number on the scale just bc this society makes us feel like we should all weigh 100 lbs. Aim for a healthy weight. Do you look good? Feel good? We aren't all going to be supermodels and it's harmful for us to think that. I'm not saying that you are, I don't know your situation, but other people will read this who may be having this problem. There are calculators out there that will give you a healthy weight range for your body.

congratulations! 60 pounds is quite an accomplishment!

sometimes we hit a "plateau" when we diet, and also, you might be developing muscle mass because you are walking and exercising (which is a good thing!).

maybe you could talk with a dietician to find out how many calories you need to take in, in order to lose more weight?

i'm very proud of you for your accomplishments so far, and wanted to let you know... i've struggled with my weight, and i know how difficult it can be to lose!

take care and i hope you get some great answers here.

Try changing up your routine a little bit, it is possible for the body to get used to routine and adjust to it, it is recommended that you change your exercise routine every 8 weeks or so, and have a "refeed" at least once a month, this keeps your body guessing and working at the top level of fat burning/weight loss. Another recommendation would be to add weight lifting to your exercise routine as adding lean muscle mass will raise your overall metabolism helping to burn fat.

Congrats on the loss of 60 lbs!!!!
You need to change up your routine a bit. Try adding some weights to your routine. Walking is great but you are only some of your many muscles. Try something else. Jog, tennis, sit ups, push ups, yoga.....

You need to do more than just walk. You've essentially plateaued, your body has basically become used to your routine. Maybe try some aerobics classes, but you should definitely be adding in some strength training exercises.
