Not all people are in love with dogs as much as you are. Some places like restaurants and groceries etc cant have them due to health regulations. Some people are highly allergic to pet dander so it will bother them if you dog is around them. The reason that you dont see "no animal " signs is that the stores assume that people will use common sense and abide by normal expectations of not bringing their pet with them. For example -They say no shoes and no shirt no service but they dont mention that you need to wear pants. I think some people with pets forget that they are not human. I also think that people with small children should think twice about where its appropriate to bring them too. Not everone thinks your little darling is cute when they are annoying them or causing a rukus.

Sorry, but dogs aren't legally allowed to be in public places, unless of course it is a service dog. Even though your dog is friendly, there is liability involved and if he should bite anyone, there were be law suits. No business owner is willing to take those kinds of chances, along with the possibility of a dog going potty. You can take him to some pet stores, but thats it. And as far as taking him on dates, well, it would be good to get to know your date before introducing the dog. If your dog has separation anxiety, you can treat that, and you may find that kenneling him makes him feel secure and safe while he is alone.

It's interesting that you justify your position with that your dog is "friendly." I would have been more persuaded if you had said your dog is "well-behaved," "obedient," and "quiet."
What dog lovers do not typically understand is that not everyone likes the "friendly" behaviors that dogs exhibit. I do not like being licked and jumped on, or having a dog snuggle up to me. I would be VERY angry if you brought your dog to my house without permission. I do not have a fenced in yard, and it would be stressful if not outright dangerous to my cats to have a strange dog indoors. I would be very irritated if, in church or in a movie, a dog started barking, whining, or even started noisily licking its balls.
Also - while I'm sure you're a conscientious pet owner - a large section of the public doesn't believe it necessary to clean up after their dogs. There are folks in my neighborhood that think it's ok to NOT carry a baggie and let their dogs do their business on my lawn. If you opened up public places to you and your dog, you would also open the same places up to these idiots and their dogs.

I work in a supermarket, and it is just poor manners to bring animals into the store.
How would you feel buying food that a dog has sniffed all over?
You should give everyone else the choice to get dog saliva all over their shopping themselves rather than letting your dog do it.
By the way I am a huge dog lover, but you are not considering everyone else when you take your dog to places that are enclosed.
That is not even beginning to think about people who cannot be in enclosed spaces with animals, because they have issues with them.

no, esp. religious services and stores.
Get a second dog or put your dog in a doggie daycare setup. That way he won't be alone so much.

not if you are invited to my place, I don't like dogs in my home, and they tend to bark and pee in the corner.
in other words, other people might find your bring your dog a little offensive.
