Could it be that Lucifer, Satan, the devil...whatever you want to call him, was the 666th thing created? So the mark of the beast would mean we follow him...the 666th thing created?

(or 616th thing created for those who go with that)

godshew...yeah, I know it's a theory...that's why I said "my theory" who knows why 666...it's all guesses except for God.

BTW James 1:5 is one of my church's main verses. We're all about praying and asking.

6 isnt the number of man, 4 is. 3 is the number of the god head. 7 is the number representing completion, perfection, whatever, not that it answers the question, but i always thought it was cool. I was always told that 666 was not necessarily mans creation, but a false interpretation. im pretty sure your wrong though. satan/lucifer/whatever wasn't the 666th thing created... er... i dont think at any rate, he came right after christ... didn't he?

In Hebrew the number 7 means complete and 6 would be incomplete. The reason that there are 3 6's is a symbolism representing how imperfect Lucifer is compared to the perfect and complete Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Not necessarily. The number 6 in Bible numerology means "man" or "imperfection". I take 666 or three "sixes" in one person to be a Satanic imitation or "imperfect" reproduction of the one true triune God (Satan, the Antichrist, and False Prophet) as opposed to (The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost).

six ("6") is the number of a man. "666" is the number of attributed to fallen man.

Interesting the way numbers work in the Bible, for instance Enoch lived 365 years. Lamech lived 777 years, while Methusaleh lived 969 years. "9" is the number attributed for judgement, while "6" is the number attributed to man. Methusaleh died in the year of the flood, and his name means something like, "You'll see it when it happens". Note that 969 is man surrounded, or swallowed up by judgement ( 9 6 9 )

Interesting stuff, these numbers, eh? :-)

God created man on the sixth day.

The Antichrist is a man claiming to be God.

God established his number for a reason

6 - hes a man
6 - hes a man
6 - hes a man

God gave you all you want to know in his bible.

Incidentally the mark of the beast is not 666 that is the number of his name. The mark will be a black spot. Study your scriptures.

Uh...no. The 666 discription is based off of Roman numerology which also leads to Latin alphabet having certain numerical values. They used numerals as symbols for letters. Let me tell ya what it is...er...who. Yeah..Okay...brace yerself, this is a wild ride.

The beast has a mysterious 666 that identifies his office and name,"count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six" Rev. 13:18

The official title of the pope is "Vicarius Filii Dei", which translated is, "Representative of the Son of God" engraved to the letter on the pope's Mitre is as follows: 'Vicarius Filii Dei '". Since in Latin certain letters have numerical values, we only need to add them up to come to 666.

The office of the papacy claims that any reigning pope is in fact the vicar of Christ, or Christ embodied in a man as head of the "church". This is blasphemy. The Catholic Church is not ashamed that "she" changed the day of worship. In fact, she takes pride in this action, and regards it as her 'mark' of authority and superiority over other churches and religions. So if you follow after the Catholic tradition of Sunday worship and have forsaken the Sabbath as given by God and established even before the fall of man, then you have recieved her mark and not known Gods. The Sabbath was a sign to set apart Gods people from the rest of the world. The Catholic Church abolished Judaism and outlawed Sabbath keeping early...hundreds of years ago and then went as far as to suppress scripture from the common people and murdered many for the 'act of heresy' in having or carrying any biblical scripture at all. Its strange that the very commandment that everyone has been forced to forget is the only one that begins by telling us to 'remember'. There is so much more to this that I could go on writing for days but if you truely are interested in knowing more then go to this handy dandy website...please forgive the cheesy graphics and etc..and take a look around. Love in Christ, ~J~

honestly I study someplace that the huge form "666" would not have something to do with the unique tale of the bible, that the huge form initially replace into "999". by using the years - only like the sport "telephone" the tale has replaced and the huge form "666" became the form of devil for some reason.

Revelation is the uncovering of the events of the end times, revealing who and what the anti-christ is and when in relation to other events he arrives.

Read the sixth seal the sixth trump and the sixth vial to see anti-christ.

I don't think so. There are a number of theories, but I doubt that that's the answer.
