Can somebody explain to me the reason why the number 666 is the Devil's number and the 999 is the God's number

where did this come from? I know that 999 is supposed to be the opposite of 666 but why is this? thank you.

I think on the History Channel they said 666 was Nero's address and the people believed he was evil----so it eventually got associated with the devil

The Devil, well actually the beast, but same thing, number is 666 because it is in the Bible that way in the book of Revelations. Some have related it to Nero, but Nero was already dead in 68 A.D., when this was written between 70 - 90 A.D. It speaks of THINGS TO COME, has NOT happened yet.

God's number isn't 999. Never heard that, nor is it in the Bible anywhere.

6 was considered an imperfect number therefore 3 sixes was the worse of the worse.. the code 666 was for the emperor Nero who was presecuting the Christians at the time Revelations was written.
12 was considered the perfect number, starting with the 12 tribes of Israel those numbers, ie, 12 stars over the woman's head, and is used many times to show good or perfection in Revelations.
I never heard of 999 being part of the code the presecuted Christians used unless someone turned 666 upside down and made it up recently.

Never heard of 999 being God's number, but it sounds good to me. Let's go under that belief, and say you're a trapeze artist. Now, you love God, so you get a 999 tattooed prominently on your forehead. Now, every time you do a backflip, or a handstand on the bars, will you be worshiping satan??? What that means is up in the air. Many people take it literally, but some people believe that it was a code that hinted to the identity of the antichrist. God's number of perfection is 7, not 999. 666 in my humble opinion is a Satanic imitation of the true triune God (Father, Son and Holy Ghost) that will be unleashed during the Tribulation period (Satan, the Antichrist, and False Prophet). Three "sixes" in one person is Satan's way of imitating "three sevens" in God for the EXACTING type of worship we give God is what Satan craves! Therefore if he can give the world a seemingly all-powerful counterfeit, he'll be able to "....deceive the very elect" of the Tribulation period just as the Scripture says he will be able to do!

i think 666 is the number of satan because in the bible 6 is the number of man. so three times 6 talks about Trinity, talking about satan always mimicking God or at least trying to do so during the last times ( Revelation...)

Guys, you all need a lot of praying and understanding of God. The number, name and mark of the beast can be proven in bible. The number of the beast can be counted as the book of Revelation says. Let me know if you're interested. Let me also know why.
